Ruqyah according to the Quran

Ruqyah is an Islamic spiritual practice in which specific verses or prayers from the Quran are recited with the intention of seeking Allah's help and protection against various forms of afflictions such as evil eye, magic, or possession by jinn.

Ruqyah is typically performed by a trained practitioner who recites the Quranic verses in a specific manner, with the belief that the words of Allah have healing properties and can ward off negative energies or spiritual disturbances. It is important to note that Ruqyah should only be performed by trained individuals and should not be used as a substitute for medical or psychiatric treatment.

Ruqyah is considered a form of worship and is believed to have been practiced by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself. It is also mentioned in the Quran as a means of seeking protection and healing:

"And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss." (Quran 17:82)

There are various forms of Ruqyah, such as recitation of specific verses of the Quran, prayers, and supplications. It can be performed individually or in groups, and can be done for oneself or for others. The goal of Ruqyah is to seek Allah's protection and blessings, and to strengthen one's faith and connection with Allah.

Here are some Quranic verses related to ruqyah:

"And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers." (Quran 17:82)

"Say, "It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?" But if they turn away, then say, "I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised. Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal. And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time." [The Prophet] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe."" (Quran 21:108-112)
