Muhammad - not a madman, nor a pretend poet; according to the Quran

The above mentioned verses from the Quran are related to the concept of resurrection and judgment in the afterlife.

Quran explains that every soul shall taste death and be raised up to Allah, the ultimate judge. Quran speaks about the Day of Judgment when the people will be divided into groups, and those who did good deeds will be rewarded and those who did bad deeds will be punished. Quran reminds people of the Day of Resurrection, when they will see everything they did and will be held accountable for it. Quran explains that on the Day of Judgment, the books of deeds will be given to people, and they will see everything they did in their lifetime.

Overall, these verses emphasize the importance of doing good deeds and being mindful of one's actions because ultimately every person will be held accountable for their deeds in the afterlife.

Here are the translations and explanations of the requested Quranic verses:

Muhammad - mystical ascension (Isra & Miraj) according to the Quran

The Quran verses from Surah Al-Najm describe the Prophet Muhammad's spiritual journey, known as the Isra and Mi'raj. It talks about how he was able to see some of Allah's greatest signs and received the revelations of Allah. The verses also describe the physical appearance of some of Allah's creations and the importance of acknowledging and submitting to Allah.

Here is the translation and explanation of Quran 53:6-18:

Translation:

  • He neither deviates nor strays.
  • And he did not speak out of desire.
  • It is only an inspiration that is inspired,
  • One who is greatly strong and prudent, he imparted it.
  • And he rose to his full height upon the horizon,
  • Then drew near, and came down,
  • Until he was two bows’ length away, or even closer.
  • And He revealed to His servant what He revealed.
  • The heart was not untrue in what he saw.
  • What! Will you then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
  • And he saw him also a second time,
  • At the Lote-tree of the farthest boundary,
  • Near which is the Garden of Tranquility.

Explanation:

These verses refer to Prophet Muhammad's miraculous night journey known as the Isra and Mi'raj. The journey took place during the early years of his prophethood when he was transported from the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca to the Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, and then from there to the heavens and beyond.

  • In verse 9, Allah describes the Prophet as a strong and wise individual who was able to convey the divine message in a clear and effective manner.
  • Verses 10-12 describe the Prophet's ascension to the heavens, as he rose to his full height on the horizon, then drew near and came down until he was close to Allah.

Muhammad - restriction in marriage, according to the Quran

Quran emphasizes the importance of obeying and following the guidance of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). It reminds the believers that they should not follow their own desires or the opinions of others, but rather follow the commands of Allah and His Messenger. It also warns them that disobeying Allah and His Messenger can lead to severe punishment in this life and the hereafter.

Here's the translation and explanation of Quran 33:50:

"O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet [and] if the Prophet wishes to marry her, [this is] only for you, excluding the [other] believers. We certainly know what We have made obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands possess, [but this is for you] in order that there will be upon you no discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful."

This verse is addressed to the Prophet Muhammad and outlines the women who are lawful for him to marry. It includes his wives who he has given their due compensation to, as well as female slaves who have been returned to him as captives. Additionally, the verse includes the daughters of his uncles and aunts on both his paternal and maternal side who emigrated with him, and a believing woman who gives herself to him and whom he wishes to marry. The verse explains that this permission is exclusive to the Prophet and not applicable to other believers, and is intended to prevent discomfort for him. The verse also highlights Allah's forgiveness and mercy.

Muhammad - pressuring woman for marriage, according to the Quran

Quran states that those who obey and follow the Prophet Muhammad, and those who believe in Allah and fear Him, will be blessed with a great reward. This verse emphasizes the importance of following the guidance of the Prophet and holding onto faith in Allah as the key to success in the afterlife. It also highlights the close relationship between obeying the Prophet and having fear and reverence for Allah.

The verse 33:52 in the Quran states:

“It is not lawful for you [believers] to marry women whom you have inherited against their will, nor to put pressure on them so that you may take away part of what you have given them, unless they are guilty of immoral conduct manifest for which reason, God Himself has given you permission [to dissolve the marriage]” (Quran 33:52).

This verse addresses the issue of forced marriages and provides clear guidelines for Muslims. It states that it is not lawful for a believer to marry a woman who has inherited property against her will or to pressure her to give up part of her inheritance. Additionally, it only allows a Muslim to dissolve the marriage if the woman is guilty of immoral conduct, which is manifestly clear. This verse emphasizes the importance of respecting the rights of women and ensuring that they are not oppressed or forced into marriages against their will.

Muhammad - exceptions to "traditional" marriage regulations, according to the Quran

Quran states that the Prophet Muhammad is not like any other men, and that he has a higher status than them. He is described as being the seal of the prophets, which means that he is the last prophet and the final messenger of God. The verse emphasizes the importance of following and obeying him, and that his words and actions should be taken as guidance for all believers.

Here is the translation and explanation of Quran 33:51:

This verse refers to the permission given to Prophet Muhammad to marry certain women who were prohibited for other Muslim men to marry. These women were:

  • Wives who he had married and given their dowry (compensation).
  • Female slaves who he had acquired as a result of war.
  • Women who were related to him by blood (daughters of his paternal and maternal uncles and aunts).
  • Believing women who offered themselves to the Prophet in marriage.

This permission was granted only to Prophet Muhammad and not to other Muslim men, as Allah knew what was best for the believers and did not want to cause any discomfort or hardship. It is important to note that this permission was granted in a specific historical context and should not be generalized to other circumstances or times.
