Doing things with good intention and continuity, instead of rushing through them (for children)

In Islam, we believe that encouraging certain good qualities in others can help them do well in many parts of their life. Some of these qualities include believing strongly (Iman), being humble, working hard (Ihsan), staying patient (Sabr), being hopeful, caring about others, being disciplined, and saying thank you. When communities support each other in having these qualities, it helps everyone grow and be successful in how they act, what they believe, and their jobs.

In everyday life, we might admire someone who seems perfect in every way, but sometimes our feelings can make us think someone is better than they really are.

In Islam, being perfect is more about why you do things than how they turn out. It's important to have good intentions in everything you do, which is called niyyah. Here are some important things about having good intentions in Islam:

  • Sincerity
  • Goals as the Basis
  • Aiming for Superiority
  • Embracing Your Imperfection
  • Compensation for Intentions

In Islam, being perfect means having really good reasons for doing things, rather than just doing them perfectly. Even though we try our best to be great, we also know that we're not perfect, so it's important to always think about why we're doing things and make sure our reasons are good.

According to the Quran:

The following two verses from the Quran discuss the significance of intention and acting thoughtfully:

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:265):
"And the example of those who spend their wealth seeking means to the approval of Allah and assuring [reward for] themselves is like a garden on high ground which is hit by a downpour - so it yields its fruits in double. And [even] if it is not hit by a downpour, then a drizzle [is sufficient]. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing."

Surah Al-Mulk (67:2):
"Who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving."

Even though these verses don't talk about doing things quickly, they do talk about doing them with good reasons. The first verse says it's important to spend money wisely and ask Allah for forgiveness, no matter how fast or how much you spend. The second verse says that life and death will show who did the best things, which means it's more about why you do things than how fast you do them.

According to Hadith's:

The following two hadiths highlight the significance of intention and thoughtfulness in action:

Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 1, Hadith 1:
Narrated by 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: "I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, 'The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions, and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.'"

Sahih Muslim, Book 20, Hadith 4533:
Narrated by Abu Huraira: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect."

Sahih Muslim, Book 6, Hadith 254:
Narrated by Abu Huraira: "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: 'Verily Allah does not look to your faces and your wealth but He looks to your heart and to your deeds.'"

To sum up, what we do shows why we do it and how much we think about it. The stories and words from Islam teach us that why we do things matters a lot. They tell us that having good reasons makes our actions really special to Allah and turns regular things into something like praying. So, in the story of the Turtle and the Rabbit, although the Turtle was not as fast as the Rabbit, it helped the Turtle win the race because it didn't sleep and didn't waste time.

Being successful with intention and consistency as opposed to acting quickly

In Islam, encouraging specific traits in other Muslims can make them more successful in a variety of spheres of life. These are some qualities frequently promoted in Islam to improve personal effectiveness such as, Faith (Iman), Humility, Diligence (Ihsan), Patience (Sabr), Optimism, Compassion and Empathy, Self-discipline, and Gratitude. Communities can support an individual's holistic growth and help them achieve success in their spiritual, moral, and professional lives by encouraging their fellow Muslims to possess these attributes.

In our everyday life, the aforementioned perceptions evoke feelings of wonder, respect, and adoration for a person who is shown to be exceptional in every way; nevertheless, in actuality, we could give someone praise out of sentimentality or overconfidence, and not necessarily that's the reality.

In Islam, the idea of perfection is frequently associated with one's intentions rather than the final result. The significance of possessing genuine and unadulterated intents in all actions and pursuits is underscored by the Islamic concept of niyyah, or intention. The following are some noteworthy features of Islamic aim and perfection:

  • Sincerity
  • Goals as the Basis
  • Aiming for Superiority
  • Embracing Your Imperfection
  • Compensation for Intentions

Islam holds that perfection is more closely related to the sincerity and purity of one's intentions than it is to the faultless performance or result of deeds. While believers are urged to pursue greatness, they are also cautioned about the limitations of humanity and the necessity of constantly cleansing their intentions in all facets of life.

Though these verses don't specifically address "being fast," they do stress the significance of acting with sincerity and intention. The first verse emphasizes the importance of using money wisely and intending to ask Allah for forgiveness, regardless of how quickly or how much is spent. The second verse, which emphasizes that life and death are supposed to judge which people are best in their works, suggests the relevance of the quality and aim behind activities rather than their pace or speed.

Here is a story about 2 people- Two individuals arrived at the Masjid to make Ablution (Wudu), and they greeted and smiled at one another. Although others came here to pray as well, the Imam was the first person. On the other side, the second individual, a thief, believed he was here to get washed after spending many nights stealing and committing crimes in the neighborhood. Moral of the story is- People's presumptions reveal who they are, we judge people according to our own intents, and we should refrain from making snap judgments.

In conclusion, our deeds demonstrate the importance of intention and consideration. The hadiths and verses from the Quran both stress how important intention is in Islam. They impart the idea that good intentions determine the ultimate worth of activities in Allah's eyes and turn ordinary deeds into acts of worship. In other words, the Turtle's intention and consistency above were more important in helping him win the race against the Rabbit than his speed.

How easy is it for Muslims to enter Paradise?

There are words which are light on the tongue, heavy on the scale of deeds, and beloved to the Most Merciful.

"Subhanallah" and "Alhamdulillah" are both phrases commonly used in Islamic prayers and expressions of gratitude and praise to Allah.
"Subhanallah" means "Glory be to Allah" or "Exalted is Allah." This phrase is often recited to acknowledge the perfection and greatness of Allah.
"Alhamdulillah" means "All praise is due to Allah" or "Praise be to Allah." It's used to express gratitude and thankfulness to Allah for His blessings and favors.

Here are two more- "La ilaha illallah" and "Allahu akbar" are also commonly recited phrases in Islam.
"La ilaha illallah" means "There is no god but Allah." It is the declaration of faith in Islam, affirming the belief in the oneness of Allah and the rejection of any partners or idols.
"Allahu akbar" means "Allah is the Greatest" or "Allah is greater." It is used to glorify and exalt Allah's greatness and superiority over all things.

These words can be said as often as one wishes, at any time of day or night. They are, however, especially encouraged following prayers, when thinking back on one's blessings, or when one sees something extraordinarily lovely. These words are also often included in everyday prayers by Muslims, for example, in the tasbih (remembrance of Allah) following prayers or during the prostration (sujood). The exact moment to recite these lines ultimately comes down to devotion and personal taste.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that :
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by him when he was planting a plant, and said: "O Abu Hurairah, what are you planting?" I said: "A plant for me." He said: "Shall I not tell you of a plant that is better than this?" He said: "Of course, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "Say: 'Subhan-Allah, wal-hamdu-lillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wa Allahu Akbar (Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshiped but Allah and Allah is the Most Great.)' For each one a tree will be planted for you in Paradise."

Another commonly cited hadith related to the phrases "Subhanallah" (glory be to Allah), "Alhamdulillah" (praise be to Allah), and "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the greatest) is:
Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA), Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The uttering of the words: 'Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection)', 'Al-hamdu Lillah (all praise is due to Allah)', and 'Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest),' is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises."
[Sahih Muslim, Book 35, Hadith 6597]

We can simply comprehend from the Hadith above that we can chant those 4 phrases to grow trees every day. Through regular repetition of those 4 words, Muslims like us can create forests upon forests in Heaven for ourselves. It makes sense to assume that if we have forests named after us in Heaven, then we will also be there. In'sha'allah!

As Muslims, we ought to thank Allah for making things simpler for us and always seek His guidance by reciting those 4 words, besides our daily tasks knows as 5 pillars of Islam.

Here are some activities where Muslims may express gratitude and praise to Allah by reciting-

Laylat al-Qadr or Night of Decree

The Arabic phrase "Lailatul Qadr" (often written Laylat al-Qadr or Laylatul Qadr) means "Night of Decree" or "Night of Power." It alludes to one of the final ten nights of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, according to Islamic theology. Lailatul Qadr is regarded as the holiest night of the year in Islamic belief.

The Quran makes reference to the significance of Lailatul Qadr in Surah Al-Qadr (97:1–5) of the text.
"Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn."

According to the Islamic calendar, Laylat al-Qadr day begins at Maghrib prayer (sunset). The Night of Power extends from Maghrib to Fajr prayer (dawn).

In Islam, praying on Laylat al-Qadr, or the Night of Decree, is extremely important for a number of reasons:

  • Immense Rewards
  • Mercy and Forgiveness
  • Connection with Allah
  • Guidance and Blessings
  • Seeking Laylat al-Qadr

Say, “Oh Allah! You are most forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.” There are no specific duas (prayers) for Laylat al-Qadr. However, this particular dua about forgiveness is especially popular during Laylat al-Qadr.

On Laylatul Qadr, Muslims are urged to improve their dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and there are several benefits to doing so. On Laylatul Qadr, it is quite good to offer voluntary (nafl) prayers. Just two rakat of prayer on this holy night could translate into 83 years of Salah because deeds are doubled!

As is customary for nighttime prayers, offer two Rakat intervals of prayer. For however long you like, keep repeating. Set your heart on offering two Rakats of Nafl Salah in remembrance of Laylatul Qadr.

In conclusion, the purpose of praying on Laylat al-Qadr is to ask Allah for guidance, kindness, forgiveness, and blessings. Muslims have the chance to deepen their relationship with Allah on this night of great spiritual significance by engaging in earnest worship and devotion.

According to the Quran:

An important Islamic occasion known as "Laylat al-Qadr" (the Night of Decree) takes place on an odd-numbered night during the final ten nights of Ramadan. It is thought to be the night that Allah, through the Angel Gabriel (Jibreel in Arabic), first revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Although the Quran does not state the precise date of Laylat al-Qadr, it is thought to occur on one of the odd-numbered nights during the final ten days of Ramadan, with the 27th night being the most widely observed.

The Quran mentions Laylat al-Qadr in Surah Al-Qadr (Chapter 97). Here are the verses:
"In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree?
The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.
The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter.
Peace it is until the emergence of dawn." (Quran, Surah Al-Qadr, 97:1-5)

In these verses, the significance of Laylat al-Qadr is emphasized. It is described as a night of great benefits and kindness, better than a thousand months, when angels descend and there is peace that lasts till morning. During this auspicious night, Muslims perform extra acts of worship in which they ask Allah for forgiveness and blessings through prayer, recitation of the Quran, supplication, and remembering of Allah.

Another significant reference to Laylat al-Qadr can be found in Surah Al-Dukhan (Chapter 44), where it is mentioned indirectly:
"Indeed, We sent it [the Quran] down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind]." (Quran, Surah Al-Dukhan, 44:3)

Although the exact night is not named in this verse, experts believe it to be Laylat al-Qadr, highlighting the significance and blessing of the night the Quran was revealed.

Additionally, in Surah Al-Qadr, Allah mentions:
"Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree." (Quran, Surah Al-Qadr, 97:1)

This verse highlights Laylat al-Qadr's significance in Islam by emphasizing the Quran's divine origin and revelation throughout that night.

According to Hadith's:

A few hadiths (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) on Laylat al-Qadr are as follows:

Narrated by Aisha (RA):
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Search for the Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 234)

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA):
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 1)

These hadiths highlight the significance of pursuing Laylat al-Qadr, making an effort to worship during its nights, and the great benefits connected to true acts of devotion carried out during this auspicious time.

Narrated by Ibn Abbas (RA):
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of Ramadan, on the night when nine or seven or five nights remain out of the last ten nights of Ramadan." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 237)

The significance of seeking Laylat al-Qadr during the final ten nights of Ramadan, particularly on the odd-numbered nights, is further emphasized by this hadith. In an effort to receive its great blessings and rewards, it exhorts Muslims to increase the intensity of their prayers and acts of worship during this time.

Narrated by Abu Huraira (RA):
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The month (of Ramadan) has begun, and it is such and such a night, and therefore, observe fasting till the ninth." (Sahih Bukhari, Book 32, Hadith 233)

The fact that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) told his companions about the start of Ramadan and alluded to the significance of specific nights throughout it—possibly referring to Laylat al-Qadr—in this hadith highlights the significance of the holiday. It reminds Muslims to remain watchful and faithful during the entire month, but especially during the final ten nights of the month.

Muslims generally hold the view that Laylat al-Qadr occurs on the 27th night of Ramadan, but it's crucial to remember that neither the Quran nor the genuine Hadith specifically state the date. Narrations from the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) companions, however, indicate that it might actually fall on the 27th night.

Given that the final ten nights of Ramadan are odd-numbered nights, the 27th night is one of the most important evenings to look for Laylat al-Qadr. Furthermore, according to a story ascribed to the Prophet's companion Ubayy ibn Ka'b (RA), Laylat al-Qadr is most likely the 27th night because of specific indications he saw while in prayer. On the 27th of Ramadan, many Muslims observe Laylat al-Qadr by praying and worshiping. According to certain academics, Friday nights are usually Laylat al-Qadr nights if they fall on an odd number.

"The hot month" or "scorching burning heat" is how Ramadan is known. It is the month of the year when Allah revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad; more precisely, the revelation of the Quran as "guidance for the people" occurred on the 27th day of the month. We call it the Night of Power.

Therefore, Laylat al-Qadr might occur on any of the odd-numbered nights of the final ten nights of Ramadan, even though many Muslims mark the 27th night of Ramadan with particular dedication and worship. Thus, it is advised that you look for it carefully during these evenings.

NOTE: Laylat al-Qadr day begins at Maghrib prayer (sunset). The Night of Power extends from Maghrib to Fajr prayer (dawn). This holy night could translate into 83 years of Salah & Prayers. In another word, this one night Prayer could be equivalent to entire life of a person. In'sha'allah.

The most humble and effective prayer a Muslim may say

In Islam, Allah's mercy (Arabic: رحمة‎, rahmah) is central to the understanding of His attributes and relationship with His creation. The concept of Allah's mercy is profound and multifaceted, permeating every aspect of Islamic belief and practice. Here's an explanation of the Islamic view regarding Allah's mercy:

Mercy as a Fundamental Attribute of Allah:
Mercy is regarded as one of Allah's most important qualities. Muslims hold that everything in the cosmos is covered in Allah's mercy. "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful" (Arabic: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ) opens the Quran, emphasizing Allah's mercy as the first quality specified.

Comprehensive and All-Encompassing:
Allah is merciful and all-pervasive; it is extended to all of creation, believers and unbelievers alike. It can take many different forms, such as support, forgiveness, protection, guidance, and compassion.

Mercy in Creation and Providence:
Muslims hold that both creation and providence demonstrate Allah's kindness. He shows His love and concern for His animals by giving them food, wisdom, and blessings.

Mercy in Guidance and Revelation:
Allah's direction for humanity is a clear indication of His mercy. The Quran is considered to be the pinnacle of Allah's kindness, providing insight, direction, and answers to all of life's problems.

Mercy in Forgiveness:
The most obvious manifestation of Allah's mercy is His forgiveness. Muslims hold that Allah is always prepared to pardon those who really repent. If someone truly approaches to Allah in repentance, then no sin is too big for His mercy to pardon.

Mercy in Trials and Tests:
Muslims believe that Allah's mercy is present even in the midst of difficulties and afflictions. Difficulties are chances for spiritual growth and purification as well as tests of faith. Lessons learnt and fortitude gained from overcoming adversity are frequent manifestations of Allah's kindness.

Mercy in the Hereafter:
Islam holds that Allah's kindness continues into the Hereafter, past this life. On the Day of Judgment, believers anticipate that Allah would show more mercy than justice, bringing salvation and eternal pleasure to those who led moral lives.

All things considered, Islamic ethics and theology are centered around the idea of Allah's kindness. It encourages believers to treat others with kindness, forgiveness, and compassion in order to reflect the qualities of God that they wish to imitate.

Prayer's from the Quran:

Here are some Quranic verses that mention prayers for Allah's mercy along with their respective verse numbers:

"Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us guidance in our affair." (18:10)

"And those who believed and did righteous deeds will be admitted to gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein by permission of their Lord; and their greeting therein will be, 'Peace!'" (14:23)

"Our Lord, decide between us and our people in truth, and You are the best of those who give decision." (7:89)

"Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful." (23:109)

"Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers." (7:23)

"And they say, 'Our Lord, let our spouses and offspring be a comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.'" (25:74)

"And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allah] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great flood." (21:76)

"And they say, 'Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.'" (3:8)

"Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (60:5)

"Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people." (2:250)

"Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people." (3:147)

"Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us. Our Lord, indeed You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise." (60:4)

"Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination." (60:4)

"Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." (2:201)

"Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people." (2:286)

These verses reflect various prayers for mercy, forgiveness, guidance, and protection from Allah.

According to Hadiths:

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5645)

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Allah, the Exalted, has said: 'I will declare war against him who shows hostility to a pious worshipper of Mine. And the most beloved thing with which My slave comes nearer to Me is what I have enjoined upon him; and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (praying or doing extra deeds besides what is obligatory) till I love him. When I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My protection (Refuge), I will protect him; and I do not hesitate to do anything as I hesitate to take the soul of the believer, for he hates death, and I hate to disappoint him.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6502)

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'When My slave intends to commit a sin, do not record it against him until he actually commits it; if he acts upon it, then write it as one evil deed, but if he refrains from it for My sake, then write it as one good deed, for I am nearer to him than his jugular vein.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6491)

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'O son of Adam, as long as you call upon Me and put your hope in Me, I have forgiven you for what you have done and I do not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky and then you would seek My forgiveness, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with sins that are close to filling the earth and then you would meet Me without ascribing any partners with Me, I would certainly bring to you forgiveness close to filling it.'" (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3540)

Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "Allah says: 'I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if he remembers Me.
If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and
if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and
if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and
if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and
if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 7405)

This hadith demonstrates how Allah is willing to show mercy and forgiveness to His servants who honestly seek Him out. It emphasizes Allah's intimacy with His creation and His readiness to welcome people who come to Him in search of direction and pardon.

In conclusion, here is a legend of a person who learned about Allah's favor while residing on Earth:
A man became stranded in an ocean storm and found himself on a barren island. Because of his strong religious beliefs, he made the decision to live out his days on the island, dedicating himself to Allah. According to the legend, Allah will ask this devout guy on the day of judgment, how he would want to enter Heaven. Man will respond, Allah, I would like to enter heaven as it weigh based on how much I used pray and praise you on Earth. In response, Allah would say, the favor of your Allah for that one eye is much more heavier than all your prayers on Earth, and command Angels to transport him to the Hellfire. As they drag, angels will advise the man to approach Allah for forgiveness. In his prayer, the guy will beseech Allah for forgiveness and express his desire to enter heaven out of His mercy. The man will subsequently be permitted by Allah to ascend to heaven and live there forever.

Why does Islam teach us to value Heaven above Earth?

Islam's belief that Heaven (Jannah) is superior to Earth is based on the Hadith (sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) and the Quran. According to the Quran, Paradise is a place where the joys of this life on earth are surpassed and there is unfathomable ecstasy that lasts forever. Here are some major justifications for why Muslims believe that Heaven is preferable to Earth:

Eternal Happiness:
Believers are assured of eternal joy and peace in heaven, free from all forms of sorrow, anguish, or suffering. While the joys of Paradise are eternal, the pleasures of this world are fleeting.

Unimaginable Rewards:
According to the Quran, believers will receive unimaginably abundant blessings in Paradise. These consist of exquisite gardens, crystal-clear rivers, opulent homes, and company with good spirits.

Proximity to Allah:
Being close to Allah is one of Paradise's greatest blessings. The chance to be near their Creator will present itself to believers, allowing them to feel a heavenly presence and closeness that is unmatched in this life.

No Fatigue or Weariness:
In contrast to life on Earth, when people get tired and worn out, the people who live in Paradise won't get tired at all. They will live in an eternally vibrant and healthy state.

No Fear or Grief:
Heaven is a place where there is no sorrow for the past or fear of injury or loss. It is a very secure and happy location.

Fulfillment of Desires:
According to the Quran, believers will receive anything they want in Paradise. This contrasts with the constraints and unmet aspirations that humans may encounter in the material world.

Besides, here is a Hadith that explains it better-
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was passing through the bazaar with his Companions on his both sides, when he saw a dead skinny lamb. He held its ear and said, "Who of you would like to have it for a dirham". They replied, "We do not like to get it for nothing, and what shall we do with it?". Then he (ﷺ) asked, "Would you like to have it for nothing?". They replied, "Had it been alive, it would have been defective because it is skinny; but when dead it is of no use". Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Truly, the world is more contemptible to Allah than this (the dead lamb) is to you".
[Muslim].

The Messenger's companion did not find that dead sheep to be favorable because:

  • its skin is rotting and useless,
  • its flesh is toxic, and not consumable
  • the rotting carcass will make their home smell bad. The only remaining option is to destroy it by burning or burrying it.
Finally mentioned - "Truly, the world is more contemptible to Allah than this (the dead lamb) is to you".

In another narration, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said-
It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“A hand span in Paradise is better than the earth and everything on it.”

In the Quran, there are several verses that emphasize the superiority of Paradise (Heaven) over the earthly life. One such verse is found in Surah Al-Imran (3:185). However, it's important to note that the Quranic verses should be understood in their full context, and interpretations may vary. Here is the mentioned verse:

Surah Al-Imran (3:185):
"Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So, he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion."

This verse highlights the temporary nature of life on Earth compared to the eternal reward or punishment in the Hereafter. This verse underscores the fleeting and deceptive nature of worldly pleasures in comparison to the eternal bliss of the Hereafter. It encourages believers to prioritize their actions and focus on the life to come rather than being overly attached to the transient pleasures of this world.

As for Arrogant's and those who abuses their powers, Allah said-
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah will take the whole earth (in His Hand) and will roll up the Heaven in His right Hand, and then He will say, "I am King! Where are the kings of the earth ? "

This Hadith describes how the Angel of Death will kill everyone on Earth and Angels in Heaven, and finally will take his own life. At that point, as mentioned in the aforementioned hadith, Allah will speak to every living thing and announce his supremacy over the entire creation.

Islam promotes striking a balance between religious observance and secular pursuits, such as business. Islam acknowledges the value of pursuing both worldly and spiritual goals, and it does not see any inherent conflict between a commitment to one's religion and business ventures. Islam actually promotes moral and just business conduct, and a large number of prosperous Muslim business owners and entrepreneurs actively apply Islamic values to their line of work.

Islam stresses both the need of carrying out one's obligations in the world and the importance of spiritual growth and devotion. Even though the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) participated in a variety of economic endeavors, the Quran exhorts believers to labor hard and obtain sustenance by legal means:

  • A balanced life,
  • obtaining a halal (legal) income,
  • sincerity and intention,
  • rewards for doing honest business, and
  • charitable deeds

Islam places a great importance on spending time in religious pursuits, but it's also critical to find a balance and incorporate Islamic principles into other facets of life, including business. Islamic beliefs encourage their adherents to live ethical lives, manage their finances responsibly, and contribute to the advancement of society. The secret is to live a life that pleases Allah in both religious and worldly endeavors by applying Islamic principles.

But the quantity of time dedicated to Allah each day does not determine one's sincerity or devotion to Him. Instead, it's the Intention.

According to one of the Hadith's - while Sahaba's were sitting with Muhammad (pbuh) in the mosque, Prophet mentioned that there is a man going to enter through that door who will enter heaven. After becoming really interested, one of the Shaba's invited himself to spend the night at his home to watch him pray. While Sahaba was staying with him, he observed that instead of rising in the middle of the night to offer extra prayers or engage in other religious activities, he went to bed, had a restful night's sleep, got up, and went about his everyday business the following day. Then Sahaba questioned to the other Sahaba, emphasizing that the prophet had said you will join paradise. We are experiencing all of these conflicts, hardships, and anxieties. Although it doesn't seem like you are making an extra effort to pray more, the prophet claims that you are extremely special and will get to heaven. Although Sahaba was unsure of how to put it, he said, I try to stay positive and ask Allah's mercy instead of focusing on my struggles, hatred around me, or anyone mistreating me. That is the one thing that relieves my anxiety.

Here is another story that explains it better-
The grocery man in that market is far more committed to Allah than you are while praying in this mosque, a man said to the young imam as he fell asleep one day during his prayers. Curious, the imam approached the supermarket man and inquired about his level of devotion, given his full-time job, in comparison to someone who spent more time in the mosque. The grocery store employee requested that the Imam fill a bowl with water, cross the street, and return without spilling any. Did you recall Allah while doing that, the Imam inquired once he had finished. Imam said that I was too preoccupied with trying to avoid spilling any water and to cross the road safely twice. The grocery man smiled and stated that a devotee, no matter how busy or preoccupied with his everyday life, should never forget to praise Allah or ask for His assistance.

Could a Man ever become as great as an Angel?

According to Islamic teachings, Allah created Angels with perfection. They are 100% perfect with no mistakes. On the other hand, Allah created Human's, and Jinn's with Freewill. Believe in Allah, and submit to His will, or question in His existence.

Islam views Satan, sometimes known as the Devil, as an accursed Satan who disobeyed Allah's commands. In order to demonstrate his superiority, Allah commanded all Angels and Iblis (Satan) to bow down before Adam, the first human. However, only Satan displayed conceit and pride by refusing to bow down before Adam and by betraying Allah.

Who is Satan? Before Adam was created, the Jinn race, which includes Satan or Iblis, had been inhabiting Earth for millions of years. Iblis discovered that there was only one God, Allah, and he began to worship Him alone for a very long time. Eventually, he attained the status of an angel, allowing him to regularly visit Heaven and speak with Angels. Because of his unwavering loyalty to Allah's oneness, Satan was granted the highest status among the Jinn's. But as was already established above, Satan's Arrogance, Ego, and Envy toward Adam—who was proclaimed to be the new King of Earth and whose race was superior to that of the Jinn's—allowed him to betray Allah and defy Him. This is known in Arabic as Adam or Human's are Ashraful Makhlukat or the best creation. Allah told Satan that he was cursed and would go astray because he dared to challenge Allah, the only God, because he is weak and has shortcomings.

The question now is: Can a human do the same and rise to the level of an angel and perfection, given that Satan from the Jinn was able to reach the level of angels, as mentioned above, who are always correct and perfect?

Islamic beliefs state that Allah has 99 attributes, or qualities, and that He granted us one freedom—freewill—when He created man and the jinn. This option is to believe in Allah and submit to His will, or to doubt His existence. On the other hand, angels are always right, and never wrong in everything they do since they are completely protected by Allah.

99 Names of Allah (Al Asma Ul Husna)
https://99namesofallah.name

As previously stated, the three shortcomings that caused Satan to be cursed were  (in summary)-

  • Arrogance,
  • Ego, and
  • Envy.
An angelic perfection is possible if a human is able to overcome difficulties by being concentrated and making an effort to remain optimistic.

According to the Quran

Seeking Allah's mercy is an essential component of Islam. The following passages and deeds from the Quran highlight the path to obtaining Allah's mercy:

Repentance (Tawbah):
"And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed." (Quran 24:31)
Repentance is a means to seek forgiveness and mercy from Allah.

Good Deeds:
"And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do." (Quran 29:7)
Performing good deeds and acts of kindness are pathways to earning Allah's mercy.

Patience and Perseverance:
"And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the humbly submissive [to Allah]" (Quran 2:45)
Patience during trials and tribulations, coupled with consistent prayer, can lead to Allah's mercy.

Compassion and Mercy towards Others:
"And the mercy of your Lord is better than what they accumulate." (Quran 12:64)
Reflecting Allah's mercy in our own actions towards others can invite His mercy upon us.

Prayer and Supplication (Dua):
"Call upon your Lord in humility and privately; indeed, He does not like transgressors." (Quran 7:55)
Consistent prayer and sincere supplication are essential in seeking Allah's mercy.

Seeking Knowledge:
"Are those who have knowledge equal to those who do not have knowledge?" (Quran 39:9)
Seeking knowledge, particularly of the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), can lead to understanding Allah's mercy and His commandments.

Maintaining Family Ties:
"So would you perhaps, if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and sever your [ties of] relationship? Those [who do so] are the ones that Allah has cursed, so He deafened them and blinded their vision." (Quran 47:22-23)
Upholding family ties and fostering relationships based on compassion and love are actions that invite Allah's mercy.

Charity (Sadaqah):
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills." (Quran 2:261)
Generosity and giving in charity are acts that invite Allah's mercy and blessings.

We can work to achieve Allah's mercy as described in the Quran by sincerely and devotedly implementing these deeds into our lives.

According to Hadith's

The following Hadith references, accompanied by numerical values, illustrate methods for obtaining Allah's mercy:

Repentance (Tawbah):
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Allah extends His hand at night to accept the repentance of the sinner of the day and extends His hand during the day to accept the repentance of the sinner of the night until the sun rises from the west." (Muslim, Hadith 2759)

Good Deeds:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Be conscious of Allah wherever you are. Follow up a bad deed with a good deed and it will wipe it out, and behave well towards people." (Tirmidhi, Hadith 1987)

Patience and Perseverance:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The real patience is at the first stroke of a calamity." (Bukhari, Hadith 1302)

Compassion and Mercy towards Others:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Those who show mercy will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth, and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you." (Tirmidhi, Hadith 1924)

Prayer and Supplication (Dua):
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Dua is the essence of worship." (Tirmidhi, Hadith 3372)

Seeking Knowledge:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever treads a path in seeking knowledge, Allah will make easy for him the path to Paradise." (Muslim, Hadith 2699)

Maintaining Family Ties:
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him maintain good relations with his kin." (Bukhari, Hadith 5985)

Charity (Sadaqah):
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honor, and no one humbles himself for the sake of Allah except that Allah raises his status." (Muslim, Hadith 2588)

These Hadiths offer instructions on how to obtain Allah's mercy in a variety of life circumstances, in addition to the verses found in the Quran.

As explained above, if a person can overcome obstacles by staying focused and trying to stay positive, they can achieve an angelic perfection. For example-

We need to follow the 5 pillars of Islam-

  1. Declaring Allah as the 1 true God
  2. Our 5 daily prayers
  3. Fasting in Ramadan
  4. Performing Hajj, and
  5. Charity in Allah's cause
In addition, for daily practice-

  • A person can remain composed and pray, "I will overcome this with Allah's mercy," in place of acting Arrogantly.
  • A person can submit to Allah, saying, "If Allah wills, I can achieve that," in place of displaying Ego.
  • A person can pray if Allah wills, in'sh'Allah I can have that in the future also, instead of expressing Envy.

In conclusion, even though Iblis is an accursed Satan, however, before he was cursed, he did attain the status of an angel due to his unwavering devotion to Allah, the only God. Humans can do the same by worshiping Allah, constantly asking for his mercy, and having complete faith in His existence.

Muslims regard Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last prophet, the last messenger sent by Allah (God) to lead humankind. It is believed that he was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, circa 570 CE. He goes by Muhammad ibn Abd Allah in full. At the age of forty, Prophet Muhammad received the first revelation from Allah through the Angel Gabriel. The Quran, the sacred book of Islam, is a compilation of the revelations that took place over a 23-year period. Prophet Muhammad's teachings included a wide range of topics, including morality, spirituality, and advice for both individual and group well-being.

During his trip, he encountered many difficulties and resistance, including persecution at Mecca from the Quraysh tribe. He moved to Yathrib, which would later become Medina, in 622 CE, which is when the Islamic calendar started. An important moment in Islamic history was the migration, also referred to as the Hijra. The prophet Muhammad was instrumental in the founding of the first Islamic community in Medina. He afterwards made his way back to Mecca and took back the city in a nonviolent manner. He died at Medina in the year 632 CE. Muslims hold Prophet Muhammad in high regard as a model of character, compassion, and devotion to Allah. Muslims all around the world look to Hadith collections, which contain accounts of his sayings and deeds, for direction. Islam views him as the Seal of the Prophets, and the prophetic tradition is regarded to be completed and continued by his teachings.

Contribution:

The total number of Hadiths (sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) can differ based on the particular Hadith collections taken into consideration and the classification that scholars choose. The two most renowned and generally acknowledged compilations are Sahih Muslim and Sahih al-Bukhari. There are roughly 7,275 Hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari and roughly 7,190 in Sahih Muslim. There is a great deal of overlap between these collections, which are thought to be the most genuine.

Other well-known Hadith collections exist in addition to these, including Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Sunan An-Nasa'i, Sunan Ibn Majah, and Sunan Al-Bayhaqi. There are different amounts of Hadiths in each of these collections. It's crucial to remember that while the exact amount may vary significantly depending on various researchers and compilations, the figures shown here are generally acknowledged.

Authenticity:

The Hadiths, or sayings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), are a type of revelation from Allah rather than his own words. He clarified that he was sharing the instructions that the Almighty had shown him, not speaking on his own initiative. The Hadith listed below is one such instance:

Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she said: "Whoever tells you that the Prophet (ﷺ) concealed anything, do not believe him, for indeed, Allah says: 'O Messenger! Proclaim that which has been sent down to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His Message. Allah will protect you from mankind.' (Quran 5:67)" (Sahih al-Bukhari)

This Hadith makes it clear that the Prophet did not omit any portion of the revelation and emphasizes his duty to accurately communicate it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) repeatedly emphasized that his teachings were revelations from Allah, not his own ideas.

Here are some famous sayings of Prohet Muhammad (peace be upon him):-

"Actions are judged by intentions." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1)

"The strong man is not the one who can overpower others, but the strong man is the one who controls himself when he is angry." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6114)

"Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2592)

"Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 7376)

"Say what is true, although it may be bitter and displeasing to people." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2607)

"The believers, in their mutual mercy, love, and compassion, are like a single body; if one part of it feels pain, the rest of the body will join it in staying awake and suffering fever." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2586)

"The best charity is that given in Ramadan." (At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 664)

"Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6979)

"The best among you is the one who doesn't harm others with his tongue and hands." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6114)

"The best among you is the one who doesn't harm others with his tongue and hands." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 6114)

"The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2664)

"A person will not enter Paradise until his heart becomes pure, and his heart will not become pure until he avoids useless talk and actions." (Sunan At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2406)

"The example of a believer is like a fresh tender plant; from whichever direction the wind blows, it bends the plant. But when the wind dies down, it straightens up again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities; he remains patient and so Allah raises him in rank." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 5645)

"The most complete gift of God is a life based on knowledge." (Al-Bayhaqi)

"The best charity is that given in Ramadan." (At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 664)

"The most beloved of people according to Allah is he who brings the most benefit, and the most beloved of deeds according to Allah is bringing happiness to a fellow Muslim, or dispelling his distress, or paying off his debt, or warding away hunger from him. For me to walk with a brother regarding a need is more beloved to me than that I seclude myself in this mosque in Medina for a month." (Tabarani)

"He who guides to something good has a reward similar to the one doing it." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 1893)

"The world is a prison for a believer and paradise for a disbeliever." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2956)

"Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave." (Ibn Majah, Hadith 1)

"The best charity is that given in Ramadan." (At-Tirmidhi, Hadith 664)

"The believers, in their mutual mercy, love, and compassion, are like a single body; if one part of it feels pain, the rest of the body will join it in staying awake and suffering fever." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2586)

"If you see an evil action, change it with your hand; and if you are unable to do so, then with your tongue; and if you are unable to do so, then with your heart—and that is the weakest of faith." (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 34)

These proverbs still stress the value of acquiring information, encouraging good deeds, and cultivating a sense of togetherness among believers. These sayings also provide significant insight on ethics, kindness, and the necessity of constructive behaviors in the life of a believer.

The idea that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is and always will be the greatest human being is one that many academics may emphasize. Apart from the fact that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the seal or the last messenger among all prophets and messengers, he will remain at the top of the list till the end of time. This means that he will always be ranked #1.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had a famous saying:
I was afraid you will never ask me that question. !!!

According to certain Islamic experts, this statement is so potent that it amply demonstrates his level of knowledge in Islam, depth, amount of expertise, as well as his devotion, patience, dedication, and interest. As a result, there is no doubt that he is the greatest individual to have ever lived or will ever live until the last day.

Naming our son's Muhammad doesn't make them a Muslim

Every Muslim has five main responsibilities, or pillars of faith, that they must uphold throughout their lives. Again, it was mentioned Must, and no other exceptions. The cornerstone of Muslim faith and behavior is found in the Five Pillars of Islam. First and foremost, Muhammad's prophetic status and the unity of Allah are attested to in the Shahada, or profession of faith. Five times a day, Muslims undertake the traditional prayer known as salah, which strengthens their ties to Allah and promotes attentiveness and spiritual discipline. Almsgiving to the less fortunate, or zakat, is a reflection of the concepts of social justice and economic solidarity. Sawm, the practice of fasting throughout the month of Ramadan, fosters gratitude, empathy, and self-control. Last but not least, the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, emphasizes equality and togetherness among Muslims all over the world and is a profoundly spiritual event. These pillars work together to create the basis of an all-encompassing and pious Islamic way of life.

The Five Pillars of Islam-
1. Faith or belief in the Oneness of God (Allah) and the finality of the Prophethood of Muhammad, peace be upon him (pbuh);
2. Establishment of the 5 daily prayers;
3. Caring about and providing money for the poor;
4. Fasting throughout Ramadan as a means of self-purification.
5. Hajj (pilgrimage). The journey to Mecca for those who can afford it.

According to the Quran

The cornerstones of a Muslim's beliefs and way of life are the Five Pillars of Islam, which are essential acts of worship. Although the phrase "Five Pillars" is not specifically referenced in the Quran, the guiding ideas and practices that go along with it are taken from a number of verses. The following are some pertinent verses from the Quran that are frequently linked to the Five Pillars of Islam:

Shahada (Declaration of Faith):
Quran 3:18: "Allah witnesses that there is no deity except Him, and [so do] the angels and those of knowledge - [that He is] maintaining [creation] in justice. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Salah (Prayer):
Quran 2:238: "Guard strictly your prayers, especially the Middle Prayer; and stand before Allah in a devout (frame of mind)."

Zakat (Charity):
Quran 2:267-273: These verses discuss the importance of giving to charity and helping those in need.

Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan):
Quran 2:183: "O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous."

Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca):
Quran 3:97: "In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds."

It is noteworthy that although these passages are connected to the Five Pillars, the specific customs and ceremonies are frequently taken from the Hadith, which are the sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Islamic beliefs and customs are based on the combination of the Quran and Hadith.

According to Hadith

Here are some Hadith's with reference for each of the Five Pillars of Islam:

Shahada (Declaration of Faith):
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that 'Isa (Jesus) is the servant of Allah, His Messenger, and His Word which He bestowed in Maryam (Mary) and a spirit created from Him; and that Paradise is true and Hell is true - Allah will admit him into Paradise, whatever his deeds." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 23, Hadith 355)

Salah (Prayer):
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "When a servant stands for prayer, all his sins are brought and placed on his head and shoulders. Every time he bows or prostrates, they fall away from him." (Sunan Ibn Majah, Book 5, Hadith 771)

Zakat (Charity):
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Take from their wealth to give to the poor among them." (Sahih Muslim, Book 5, Hadith 1057)

Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan):
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 31, Hadith 1)

Hajj (Pilgrimage to Mecca):
Hadith: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever performs Hajj for the sake of Allah and does not utter any evil or do any evil, will go back as free from sins as the day his mother gave birth to him." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 26, Hadith 596)

Please note that there are multiple collections of Hadith, and the references provided here are from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, which are two of the most widely accepted collections by Sunni Muslims.

In summary, the Five Pillars of Islam are fundamental principles that direct a Muslim's faith and behavior. They are encapsulated in the words of the Quran and the references to Hadith. The Quran's emphasis on divine testimony is highlighted by the Shahada, which affirms Allah's unity. Salah, which is expressed in verses that demand unwavering prayer, denotes devotion to and a spiritual relationship. Verse incorporates the idea of Zakat, highlighting economic justice and compassion, while Hadith emphasizes the obligation to help the less fortunate. The Quran affirms and promotes sawm, and certain Hadiths bolster its function in atoning for transgressions. The Quran's obligatory Hajj stands for Muslim equality and solidarity, while Hadith highlights the pilgrimage's transformational power. These lines from the Quran and the allusions to Hadith together capture the all-encompassing and interwoven nature of the Five Pillars, offering a model for an upright and pious Muslim life. In other words, naming our children Muhammad doesn't make them Muslims or believers in Islam. As was already established, the secret to being a good Muslim is their everyday practices.

Paganism to Islam during Muhammad (peace be upon him)

Islam uses the term "Paganism" to describe a variety of practices, including polytheism and the worship of gods other than Allah (Arabic for "one") during the last messenger and prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Polytheists are people or groups who believe in and worship several gods or deities, much as pagans. The Greek words "poly," which means numerous, and "theos," which means deity, are the source of the name "polytheism". In polytheistic belief systems, a pantheon of gods or goddesses, each with unique characteristics, spheres of influence, and responsibilities, are acknowledged and revered.

Whereas, the idea that there is only one god or supreme entity is known as Monotheism. Monotheistic believers embrace this ultimate divine entity's uniqueness and unity. Polytheistic belief systems emphasize the existence of several gods, whereas monotheistic belief systems emphasize the existence of a single, transcendent, all-powerful god.

"Surely, Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin." (Quran 4:48)

The worship of saints, idols, or any other created being is likewise condemned by Islamic teachings. Islam's central teaching is the worship of the one true God, alone and without partners.

It is important to remember that in Islamic theology and discourse, the term "paganism" is not frequently employed to refer to other belief systems. The rejection of polytheism and the assertion of God's unity are usually the main points of emphasis instead.

Prophet Nuh lived in a society that had turned away from monotheistic religion and had adopted a number of immoral customs, including polytheism.

Abraham, often referred to as Ibrahim in Islam, was raised in an idolatrous culture. His people were polytheists who revered a variety of statues and idols.

The Quran recounts Abraham's reflections and rejection of his people's pagan beliefs. Abraham questioned the legitimacy of worshiping statues and celestial bodies, as described in Surah Al-Anbiya (21:51–70). He tried to get his people to consider the pointlessness of worshiping inanimate objects by having a conversation and argument with them.

Following the teachings of Muhammad (peace be upon him), Muslims reject polytheism and associate Allah with associates. Instead, they believe in the absolute oneness of God.

During the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad, the conversion of pagan populations to Islam was a difficult process involving many variables. Over the course of his 23-year prophetic mission, Muhammad preached monotheism and extended invitations to convert to Islam.

  • Prophetic Character
  • The Message of Monotheism
  • Social and Economic Justice
  • Inclusivity
  • Miracles and Signs
  • Patience and Perseverance
  • Personal Relationships
  • Military and Political Success

A number of these causes combined to cause the gradual conversion of people to Islam. It's critical to recognize that the conversion process was dynamic and that people changed to Islam for a variety of reasons, impacted by both psychological and intellectual elements.

According to the Quran:

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:163):

"And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate."

Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4):

"Say, 'He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.'"

Surah Al-An'am (6:102):

"That is Allah, your Lord; there is no deity except Him, the Creator of all things, so worship Him. And He is, over all things, Disposer of affairs."

Surah Al-Shura (42:11):

"There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing."

Surah Al-Fussilat (41:6):

"Say, 'I am only a man like you, to whom has been revealed that your god is one God. So whoever would hope for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work and not associate in the worship of his Lord anyone.'"

Surah Al-Ankabut (29:46):

"And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, 'We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him.'"

Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:91):

"Never did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with Him any (other) god -- in that case would each god certainly have certainly taken away what he created, and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah above what they describe!"

These verses highlight Allah's qualities, His unique oneness, and His rejection of all conceptions of spouses, associates, or children. One of the main tenets of Islam is tawhid, and these verses highlight how monotheistic Islam is.

During Paganism, denying their own god and accepting the one and only God of Islam was one of the first challenges that Pagans had to face in order to accept Islam. It is said that there were about 368 Pagan Gods during the time of Muhammad (peace be upon him). When pagans believed in about 368 gods, they were perplexed and cynical about how on earth they could repudiate the god their own ancestors worshipped and then acknowledge that there is only one god. He discussed all 99 qualities of Allah. Muhammad (pbuh) did not tell them to stop believing in God; rather, he told them to embrace Allah, the Arabic name for the single God.

Here are some similarities:

99 Names of Allah (Asmaul Husna), and Pagan Deities in Pre-Islamic Arabia:

1. Allah (الله)
Hubal: Chief god of the Kaaba in Mecca. Considered principal deity of the Quraysh tribe.

2. Allah Ar-Rahman (الرحمن) The Most Gracious
Al-Lat: Goddess associated with fertility, venerated in Ta'if.

3. Allah Ar-Rahim (الرحيم) The Most Merciful
Al-Uzza: Goddess associated with love and beauty, significant to the Quraysh tribe.

4. Allah Al-Malik (الملك) The Owner of Sovereignty
Manat: Goddess associated with fate and destiny. Considered one of the daughters of Allah in some traditions.

5. Allah Al-Quddus (القدوس) The Holy
Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Ya'uq, Nasr: Idols or deities worshiped by various tribes in different regions of Arabia.

6. Allah As-Salam (السلام) The Peace
Dhu al-Khalasa: Idol located in Yemen, associated with the tribe of Banu Hamdan.

7. Allah Al-Mu'min (المؤمن) The Faithful
Al-Kutbay: Deity worshiped by the Banu Tamim tribe.

8. Allah Al-Muhaymin (المهيمن) The Guardian
Ruda: God revered by the Banu Qasi tribe.

9. Allah Al-Aziz (العزيز) The Almighty
Yaghuth: Idol worshiped in the region.

10. Allah Al-Jabbar (الجبار) The Compeller
Ya'uq: Another idol venerated by some tribes.

11. Allah Al-Mutakabbir (المتكبر) The Majestic
Nasr: Deity or idol associated with pre-Islamic Arabian polytheism etc.

Before embracing Islam, Umar bin Khattab (RA) reportedly said that one day, while traveling, he realized it was time for prayer, but he had left his God at home. With the help of some dates, he was able to mold his conception of God and pray. He ate his God later without hesitation because he was hungry. He laughed after telling the incident and said, It's a good thing I was introduced to Islam, adding that the genuine God need not take the form of a physical object.

In another incident, Umar was known for his humility, and it is said that he spoke to the Black Stone during Tawaf, saying, "I know that you are a mere stone and can neither harm nor benefit. Had I not seen the Prophet (peace be upon him) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you." Prophet Adam was the first to receive the black stone from Angel Gabriel. When Adam would kiss it when he was upset, Allah would pardon him for his humility and sincere desire for forgiveness. What if, in Umar's instance, it was claimed that he and other Muslims were actually worshiping the black stone? It shows how cautious he was when he approached a stone, weighed its possible advantages, and avoided conflating it with his one God in the face of criticism from other faiths.

In summary, while preaching all 99 attributes of one Allah by Muhammad (peace be upon him), Pagans interested in Spiritual Search, Intellectual Inquiry, Emotional and Psychological Factors, and Guidance from Religious Authorities began to realize that, while one Allah sounded a lot like their own God, it also shared similarities with all 368 other Gods that existed at that time. That is to say, accepting Islam and submitting to Allah, the only God, may have been much more comfortable for individuals who were young, liberal, impoverished, poor, and struggling.

Allah looks for Quality not the Quantity, according to Islam

The ideas of quality and quantity have applications in Islam across a range of domains, including as moral conduct, religious observance, and personal growth. Although Islam stresses the value of number in some acts of worship, it also stresses the value of quality.

Islam emphasizes sincere and thoughtful deeds while promoting a balance between quantity and quality in all facets of life. While there are numerical criteria for some religious commitments, the motive and caliber of the deeds still matter most. An important part of Islamic teachings is aiming for perfection and keeping quantity and quality in check.

Here is a nice motivational video that explains how Allah judges us and what to expect in the future:

In the early days beginning when God Allah was first creating everything he said to the Angels bring me the earth and the angels they said why do you want to create this us in a negative way. Why do you want to make this thing Adam his sons his children? They will commit mischief, they will fight, they will shed blood, they will do all kinds of evil, because they will have freewill and we, we worship you, we praise you? So why do you create this thing when we worship you? And Allah says you don't know what I know.

So then we are created and now this gathering and the angels are climbed all the way to the heavens, where they are asked a question the question now is from Allah he asks them remember these people you said why do you make them why have they gathered? why have they come together? And the angels are so amazed by us they say you're our Allah they're praising you for Jaannah (heaven). But have they seen me? So they Angels realize no Allah they don't see you. What if they saw me? That would praise you even more than us. These people truly love you. What else do they say? They say alhamdulillah. For what? Dunya (earth). They thanked me for dunya? What is dunya? The word itself is if this was creation the bottom of the bottom the very bottom of the bottom. The word dunya means lowly, underneath that is what is given to us and we treasure. So much so Allah says what if I gave or showed them what I actually made for them, the rest of creation? They would thank you so much more. What else do they say? They say Allah Akbar. They say you are the greatest. So they are amazed by you o Allah. Have they seen me? No. Have they seen my powers? No. What if they were to see? They would worship you so much more. Remember the Angels first said why do you create this and now they're praising us the Angels they see us we were created with freewill do what you want and we were limited we cannot see God yet and then on top of that we were created inSun which means they will forget forgetful they are forgetful and then upon that they were given Freewill, desires, and then upon that they were surrounded by fatahna fitna (test), temptations, desires etc. and then they were put here and now amongst all of that they came here to remember Allah. The angels say this is amazing. And so they say to Allah, before they said why do you make them? Now they're saying to Allah, give them the best reward, these people are amazing, and the angels praise you by name.

Why Allah asks Angels to praise us?

While Muslims-
  1. Because, of our declaring Allah as the 1 true God
  2. Our 5 daily prayers
  3. Fasting in Ramadan
  4. Performing Hajj, and
  5. Charity in Allah's cause

Allah created Angels with perfection. They are 100% perfect with no mistakes. On the other hand, Allah created Human's, and Jinn's with Freewill. Believe in Allah, and submit to His will, or question in His existence.

Allah said to Angels above, you don't know what I know.

What did Allah know?

Here is a Hadith on that-
1) Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The first man to be called on the Day of Resurrection will be Adam who will be shown his offspring, and it will be said to them, 'This is your father, Adam.' Adam will say (responding to the call), 'Labbaik and Sa`daik' Then Allah will say (to Adam), 'Take out of your offspring, the people of Hell.' Adam will say, 'O Lord, how many should I take out?' Allah will say, 'Take out ninety-nine out of every hundred." They (the Prophet's companions) said, "O Allah's Apostle! If ninety-nine out of every one hundred of us are taken away, what will remain out of us?" He said, "My followers in comparison to the other nations are like a white hair on a black ox."

So, What did Allah know?-
Allah knew, He will allow 1% of every 100 to enter heaven. The remaining 99% will go to Hell first to be purified.

Allah is not looking for Quantity. He is looking for Quality, so that he can reward them.
"The deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention." [Sahih Al-Bukhari 1]

There are always consequences to our actions. Every thought, statement, and action we take has an impact on both ourselves and other people. Because everything is interrelated, our actions spread out and have an impact on others, much like ripples on a pond; and the only real authority who truly understands our intentions is Allah.

“Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." [Quran 2:201]

Importance of daily prayers, according to Islam

One of the Five Pillars of Islam and a vital act of worship is prayer, often known as salat or salah. It is mandatory for Muslims to offer five prayers a day in order to keep a close relationship with Allah (God). In Islam, the importance of prayer stems from a number of fundamental ideas and precepts:

Submission to Allah (Islam): Islam is all about submitting to Allah's will. Muslims demonstrate their allegiance to and obedience to Allah's precepts via prayer. It acts as a continual reminder of how crucial it is to live in accordance with the divine direction found in the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

Communication with Allah: It is believed that prayer is a direct line of communication with Allah. It enables Muslims to convey their thankfulness, ask for pardon, and request direction and assistance in their day-to-day life. It's a means of cultivating a close bond with the Creator.

Spiritual Discipline: A Muslim's life is characterized by discipline and routine thanks to the regular prayer regimen. Muslims are reminded of their spiritual obligations and are encouraged to keep a connection with Allah despite the difficulties of everyday life by praying at designated times throughout the day.

Community Unity: Particularly during Friday congregational prayers (Jumu'ah), prayer is a community activity. It acts as a unifying factor among Muslims, encouraging a feeling of camaraderie and communal devotion.

Purification of the Soul: Islam holds that the soul is purified via prayer. It is a way to purify oneself of spiritual impurities and ask for forgiveness for transgressions. Ablutions, or wudu, are carried out prior to prayer as a metaphor of this cleansing procedure.

Gratitude and Remembrance: Muslims remember Allah's qualities and teachings while expressing gratitude for the bounties in their lives through a variety of prayer postures and recitations. It acts as a continual reminder to Muslims of the value of appreciation and awareness in daily life.

All things considered, prayer in Islam is a comprehensive and essential component of a Muslim's spiritual path, offering a disciplined and consistent way to establish a relationship with God, ask for guidance, and develop humility and discipline.

According to the Quran:

The significance of praying every day (Salah) is emphasized in multiple verses of the Quran. A few scriptures that emphasize the need of starting regular prayers are as follows:

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:238-239):
"Guard your prayers, especially the middle prayer, and stand up with devotion to Allah. If you are in danger, offer your prayers on foot or riding, and when you are safe, remember Allah in the way He has taught you, which you did not know before."

Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:55-56):
"Your ally is none but Allah and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed – those who establish prayer and give zakah, and they bow [in worship]. And whoever is an ally of Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed – indeed, the party of Allah – they will be the predominant."

Surah Ta-Ha (20:130):
"So be patient over what they say and exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied."

Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:1-2):
"Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive."

Surah Al-Ankabut (29:45):
"Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do."

These verses emphasize the relationship between prayer and patience, righteousness, success, and abstaining from immoral action. It is believed that praying on a regular basis helps believers grow morally and spiritually and builds a close relationship with Allah.

According to Hadiths:

There are numerous Hadiths (sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him) that highlight the significance of Salah in the context of prayer in Islam. Among the famous hadiths are:

The Hadith about the example of the five prayers:
Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him).
This Hadith is found in Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 10, Hadith 506.

Narrated by Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him):
"I heard Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) saying, 'If there was a river at the door of anyone of you and he took a bath in it five times a day, would you notice any dirt on him?' They said, 'Not a trace of dirt would be left.' The Prophet (peace be upon him) added, 'That is the example of the five prayers with which Allah blots out (annuls) evil deeds.'"

The five daily prayers have a cleansing and purifying impact, as this Hadith emphasizes. It highlights the notion that devotion to the prescribed prayers preserves spiritual purity, just as frequent washing achieves physical cleanliness.

Another Hadith that emphasizes the importance of prayer is:

The Hadith about the prayers being the first thing for which people will be held accountable:
Narrated by Abdullah bin 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him).
This Hadith is found in Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 10, Hadith 505.

Narrated by Abdullah bin 'Amr (may Allah be pleased with him):
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The first thing that the people will be called to account for on the Day of Resurrection will be the prayers. Our Lord will say to the angels although He knows better: 'Look into the prayer of My servant and see whether he has offered it perfectly or imperfectly.' If it is perfect, it will be recorded as perfect. If it is defective, He will say: 'See if there are some optional prayers offered by My servant.' If there are optional prayers to his credit, He will say: 'Compensate the obligatory prayer by the optional prayer for My servant.' Then all the actions will be considered similarly.'"

The importance of prayers is highlighted by this Hadith, which states that on the Day of Judgment, people would be held accountable for their prayers first. It draws attention to the vital role that prayers play in the overall assessment of one's deeds and shows the possible benefit of optional prayers in making up for any shortcomings in the required ones.

Here is another Hadith emphasizing the importance of consistency in performing prayers:

The Hadith about the link between abandoning the prayer and disbelief:
Narrated by Jabir bin 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).
This Hadith is found in Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 149.

Narrated by Jabir bin 'Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him):
"The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Between a person and disbelief is abandoning the prayer.'"

This Hadith emphasizes how important it is to pray consistently in order to tell a believer from an unbeliever. It emphasizes how important it is to stay in contact with Allah through praying, implying that skipping this duty could have dire spiritual repercussions.

Asma bin Al-Hakam Al-Fazari said:
"I heard Ali saying: 'Indeed I am a man who, when I heard a Hadith from Allah's Messenger (S) then Allah causes me to benefit from it as much as He wills for me to benefit from it. When a man among his Companions narrated to me I ask him to swear an oath to me about it, and when he swears an oath to me I trust him. "I heard 'Ali saying: 'Indeed I am a man who, when I hear a Hadith from the Messenger of Allah (SAW), then Allah causes me to benefit from it as much as He wills for me to benefit from it. Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said to Bilal:
Bilal, narrate to me which act at the time of morning prayer you did in Islam for which you hope to receive good reward, for I heard during the night the sound of your steps before me in Paradise. Bilal said: I did not do any act in Islam for which I hope to get any benefit but this that when I perform complete ablution during the night or day I observe prayer with that purification what Allah has ordained for me to pray.

Huraith bin Qabisah narrated:

He said: "I sat with Abu Hurairah and said: 'Indeed I asked Allah to provide me with a righteous gathering. So narrate a hadith to me which you heard from Allah's Messenger (saws) so that perhaps Allah would cause me to benefit from it.' He said: 'I heard Allah's Messenger (saws) say: "Indeed the first deed by which a servant will be called to account on the Day of Resurrection is his Salat. If it is complete, he is successful and saved, but if it is defective, he has failed and lost. So if something is deficient in his obligatory (prayers) then the Lord, Mighty and Sublime says: 'Look! Are there any voluntary (prayers) for my worshipper?' So with them, what was deficient in his obligatory (prayers) will be completed. Then the rest of his deeds will be treated like that."

Sunan Abi Dawud » Fasting (Kitab Al-Siyam) - كتاب الصوم
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas:
Ibn Abbas explained the following Qur'anic verse: "O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you" During the lifetime of the Prophet (saws), when the people offered night prayer, they were asked to abstain from food and drink and (intercourse with) women, they kept fast till the next night. A man betrayed himself and had intercourse with his wife after he had offered the night prayer, and he did not break his fast. So Allah, the Exalted, intended to make it (fasting) easy for those who survived, thus providing a concession and utility. Allah, the Glorified, said: "Allah knoweth what ye used to do secretly among yourselves." By this Allah benefited the people and provided concession and ease to them.

(the clerk of Al-Mughira bin Shu`ba) Once Al-Mughira dictated to me in a letter addressed to Muawiya that the Prophet used to say after every compulsory prayer, "La ilaha illa l-lahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-hamdu, wa huwa `ala kulli shay'in qadir. Allahumma la mani`a lima a`taita, wa la mu`tiya lima mana`ta, wa la yanfa`u dhal-jaddi minka l-jadd. [There is no Deity but Allah, Alone, no Partner to Him. His is the Kingdom and all praise, and Omnipotent is he. O Allah! Nobody can hold back what you gave, nobody can give what You held back, and no struggler's effort can benefit against You]." And Al-Hasan said, "Al-jadd' means prosperity [??]."

Sahih al-Bukhari » Distribution of Water - كتاب المساقاة
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "There are three persons whom Allah will not look at on the Day of Resurrection, nor will he purify them and theirs shall be a severe punishment. They are: -1. A man possessed superfluous water, on a way and he withheld it from travelers. -2. A man who gave a pledge of allegiance to a ruler and he gave it only for worldly benefits. If the ruler gives him something he gets satisfied, and if the ruler withholds something from him, he gets dissatisfied. -3. And man displayed his goods for sale after the `Asr prayer and he said, 'By Allah, except Whom None has the right to be worshipped, I have been given so much for my goods,' and somebody believes him (and buys them). The Prophet then recited: "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's Covenant and their oaths." (3.77)

Sahih al-Bukhari » Judgments (Ahkaam) - كتاب الأحكام
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "There will be three types of people whom Allah will neither speak to them on the Day of Resurrection nor will purify them from sins, and they will have a painful punishment: They are, (1) a man possessed superfluous water (more than he needs) on a way and he withholds it from the travelers. (2) a man who gives a pledge of allegiance to an Imam (ruler) and gives it only for worldly benefits, if the Imam gives him what he wants, he abides by his pledge, otherwise he does not fulfill his pledge; (3) and a man who sells something to another man after the `Asr prayer and swears by Allah (a false oath) that he has been offered so much for it whereupon the buyer believes him and buys it although in fact, the seller has not been offered such a price." Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "There are three (types of) people with whom Allah will neither speak on the Day of Resurrection nor purify them (from sins) and there will be a painful chastisement for them: A person who has spare water in a desert and he refuses to give it to the traveller; a person who sells a commodity to another person after the afternoon prayer and swears by Allah that he has bought it at such and such price, and the buyer pays him accordingly though in reality it was not true; and a person who pledges allegiance to an Imam (leader) just for some worldly benefit, and then if the Imam bestows on him (something out of that) he fulfills his allegiance, and if does not give him, he does not fulfill it."[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Riyad as-Salihin » The Book of Dress - كتــــاب اللباس
Qais bin Bishr At-Taghlibi reported that his father, who attended the company of 'Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) told him:
There was a man in Damascus who was a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). He was called Ibn Al-Hanzaliyyah. He was a lonesome person and would rarely spend some time in the company of people. He would spend most of his time performing Salah and when he finished, he would engage himself in Tasbih (Subhan-Allah) and Takbir (Allahu Akbar), until he would go home. He passed by us one day when we were sitting with Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him). The latter said to him: "Tell us something which will benefit for us and will not harm you." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) sent a detachment. When they returned, one of them came to the assemblage in which the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was present and said to his neighbor during the conversation: 'I wish you had seen us when we encountered the enemy. So-and-so (a believer) took up his spear, struck and said: Take this from me and I am the Ghifari boy. Now what do you think of this?' The neighbor said: 'I think that he lost his reward because of boasting.' He said: 'I see no harm in it.' They began to exchange arguments till the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) heard them and said, 'Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from every imperfection). He would be rewarded (in the Hereafter) and praised (in this world)'. I noticed that Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) felt a great pleasure at this remark and, raising his head began to repeat: "Have you heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say this!" Ibn Al-Hanzaliyyah (May Allah be pleased with him) continued responding until I asked Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) not to annoy him.Ibn Al-Hanzaliyyah (May Allah be pleased with him) happened to pass by us another day and Abud-Darda' said to him: "Tell us something which will benefit us and will not harm you." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) told us, 'He who spends to purchase a horse (for Jihad) is like one who extends his hand for spending out of charity without withholding it."'He passed by us another day and Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Tell us something which might benefit us, and will not harm you." He said: "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) once said, 'Khuraim Al-Usaidi is an excellent man were it not for his long hair and his lower garment which is hanging down.' When Khuraim heard about what the Prophet had said about him, he trimmed his long hair up to his ears with a knife and raised his lower garment half way to his shanks."On another occasion he passed by us and Abud-Darda' (May Allah be pleased with him) said to him: "Tell us something that will benefit us and will not harm you." He said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, while coming back from an expedition: "You are returning to your brothers, so set your saddles and clothes in order so that you look tidy and graceful. Allah hates untidiness."[Abu Dawud].

Sunan Abi Dawud » Clothing (Kitab Al-Libas) - كتاب اللباس
Narrated Qays ibn Bishr at-Taghlibi:
My father told me that he was a companion of Abu Darda'. There was in Damascus a man from the companions of the Prophet (saws), called Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah. He was a recluse and rarely met the people. He remained engaged in prayer. When he was not praying he was occupied in glorifying Allah and exalting Him until he went to his family. Once he passed us when we were with AbudDarda'. AbudDarda' said to him: Tell us a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah (saws) sent out a contingent and it came back. One of the men came and sat in the place where the Messenger of Allah (saws) used to sit, and he said to a man beside him: Would that you saw us when we met the enemy and so-and-so attacked and cut through a lance. He said: Take it from me and I am a boy of the tribe Ghifar. What do you think about his statement? He replied: I think his reward was lost. Another man heard it and said: I do not think that there is any harm in it. They quarrelled until the Messenger of Allah (saws) heard it, and he said: Glory be to Allah! There is no harm if he is rewarded and praised. I saw that AbudDarda' was pleased with it and began to raise his hand to him and say: Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah (saws)? He said: Yes. He continued to repeat it to him so often that I thought he was going to kneel down. He said: On another day he again passed us. AbudDarda' said to him: (Tell us) a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: The Messenger of Allah (saws) said to us: One who spends on (the maintenance of) horses (for jihad) is like the one who spreads his hand to give alms (sadaqah) and does not withhold it. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda' said to him: (Tell us) a word which benefits us and does no harm to you. He said: The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: Khuraym al-Asadi would be a fine man were it not for the length of his hair, which reaches the shoulders, and the way he lets his lower garment hang down. When Khuraym heard that, he hurriedly, took a knife, cut his hair in line with his ears and raised his lower garment half way up his legs. He then passed us on another day. AbudDarda' said to him: (tell us) a word which benefits us and does not harm you. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: You are coming to your brethren; so tidy your mounts and tidy your dress, until you are like a mole among the people. Allah does not like obscene words or deeds, or do intentional committing of obscenity. Abu Dawud said: Similarly, Abu Nu'aim narrated from Hisham. He said: Until you will be like a mole among the people.

Sunan Abi Dawud » Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah) - كتاب السنة
Narrated Irbad ibn Sariyah:
AbdurRahman ibn Amr as-Sulami and Hujr ibn Hujr said: We came to Irbad ibn Sariyah who was among those about whom the following verse was revealed: "Nor (is there blame) on those who come to thee to be provided with mounts, and when thou saidst: "I can find no mounts for you." We greeted him and said: We have come to see you to give healing and obtain benefit from you. Al-Irbad said: One day the Messenger of Allah (saws) led us in prayer, then faced us and gave us a lengthy exhortation at which the eyes shed tears and the hearts were afraid. A man said: Messenger of Allah! It seems as if it were a farewell exhortation, so what injunction do you give us? He then said: I enjoin you to fear Allah, and to hear and obey even if it be an Abyssinian slave, for those of you who live after me will see great disagreement. You must then follow my sunnah and that of the rightly-guided caliphs. Hold to it and stick fast to it. Avoid novelties, for every novelty is an innovation, and every innovation is an error.

Jami` at-Tirmidhi » Chapters on Supplication - كتاب الدعوات عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
`Ikrimah, the freed slave of Ibn `Abbas, narrated that:
Ibn `Abbas said: “We were with the Messenger of Allah (saws) when `Ali bin Abi Talib came to him, and he said: ‘May my father and mother be ransomed for you! This Qur’an has suddenly left my heart, and I do not find myself capable of it.’ So the Messenger of Allah (saws) said to him: ‘O Abul-Hasan! Should I not teach you words that Allah shall benefit you with, and benefit whomever you teach, and they will make whatever you have learned in your chest firm?’ He said: ‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah (saws), so teach me.’ He (saws) said: ‘When it is the night of (before) Friday, then if you are able to stand in the last third of the night, then verily it is a witnessed hour, and supplication is answered in it. And my brother Ya`qub (as) did say to his sons: I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord. He said: “Until the night of Friday comes.” So if you are not able, then stand in the middle of it, and if you are not able then stand in the first of it. And pray four Rak`ah. Recite Fatihatul-Kitab (the Opening of the Book) and Surat Ya-Sin in the first Rak`ah, and Fatihatul-Kitab and Ha-Mim Ad-Dukhan in the second Rak`ah, and Fatihatul-Kitab and Alif Lam Mim Tanzil As-Sajdah in the third Rak`ah, and Fatihatul-Kitab and Tabarak Al-Mufassal in the fourth Rak`ah. So when you have finished with the Tasha-hud, then praise Allah and mention Allah’s greatness in an excellent manner, and send Salat upon me - and be excellent in it - and upon the rest of the Prophets. And seek forgiveness for the believing men and the believing women, and for your brothers who have preceded you in faith. Then say in the end of that: “O Allah, have mercy on me by abandonment of sins forever, so long as You keep me remaining. And have mercy on me from taking upon myself what does not concern me, and provide me good sight for what will make You pleased with me. O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of glory, and generosity, and honor that is not exceeded. I ask you, O Allah, O Rahman, by Your glory and the light of Your Face, to make my heart constant in remembering Your Book as You taught me, and grant me that I recite it in the manner that will make You pleased with me. O Allah, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Possessor of glory, and generosity, and honor that is not exceeded. I ask you, O Allah, O Rahman, by Your glory and the light of Your Face, to enlighten my sight with Your Book, and make my tongue free with it, and to relieve my heart with it, and to expand my chest with it, and to wash my body with it. For indeed, none aids me upon the truth other than You, and none gives it except You, and there is no might or power except by Allah, the High, the Magnificent. I used to hear a Hadith and when I would repeat it, it would suddenly depart from me, and today I hear Ahadith, and when I report them, I do not err in a single letter.’ So the Messenger of Allah (saws) said at that point: ‘A believer, by the Lord of the Ka`bah, O Abul-Hasan.’”

Sunan Abi Dawud » Tribute, Spoils, and Rulership (Kitab Al-Kharaj, Wal-Fai' Wal-Imarah) - كتاب الخراج والإمارة والفىء
Narrated Abdullah al-Hawzani:
I met Bilal, the Mu'adhdhin of the Messenger of Allah (saws) at Aleppo, and said: Bilal, tell me, what was the financial position of the Messenger of Allah (saws)? He said: He had nothing. It was I who managed it on his behalf since the day Allah made him Prophet of Allah (saws) until he died. When a Muslim man came to him and he found him naked, he ordered me (to clothe him). I would go, borrow (some money), and purchase a cloak for him. I would then clothe him and feed him. A man from the polytheists met me and said: I am well off, Bilal. Do not borrow money from anyone except me. So I did accordingly. One day when I performed ablution and stood up to make call to prayer, the same polytheist came along with a body of merchants. When he saw me, he said: O Abyssinian. I said: I am at your service. He met me with unpleasant looks and said harsh words to me. He asked me: Do you know how many days remain in the completion of this month? I replied: The time is near. He said: Only four days remain in the completion of this month. I shall then take that which is due from you (i.e. loan), and then shall return you to tend the sheep as you did before. I began to think in my mind what people think in their minds (on such occasions). When I offered the night prayer, the Messenger of Allah (saws) returned to his family. I sought permission from him and he gave me permission. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my parents be sacrificed for you, the polytheist from whom I used to borrow money said to me such-and-such. Neither you nor I have anything to pay him for me, and he will disgrace me. So give me permission to run away to some of those tribes who have recently embraced Islam until Allah gives His Apostle (saws) something with which he can pay (the debt) for me. So I came out and reached my house. I placed my sword, waterskin (or sheath), shoes and shield near my head. When dawn broke, I intended to be on my way. All of a sudden I saw a man running towards me and calling: Bilal, return to the Messenger of Allah (saws). So I went till I reached him. I found four mounts kneeling on the ground with loads on them. I sought permission. The Messenger of Allah (saws) said to me: Be glad, Allah has made arrangements for the payment (of your debt). He then asked: Have you not seen the four mounts kneeling on the ground? I replied: Yes. He said: You may have these mounts and what they have on them. There are clothes and food on them, presented to me by the ruler of Fadak. Take them away and pay off your debt. I did so. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition. I then went to the mosque and found that the Messenger of Allah (saws) was sitting there. I greeted him. He asked: What benefit did you have from your property? I replied: Allah Most High paid everything which was due from the Messenger of Allah (saws). Nothing remains now. He asked: Did anything remain (from that property)? I said: Yes. He said: Look, if you can give me some comfort from it, for I shall not visit any member of my family until you give me some comfort from it. When the Messenger of Allah (saws) offered the night prayer, he called me and said: What is the position of that which you had with you (i.e. property)? I said: I still have it, no one came to me. The Messenger of Allah (saws) passed the night in the mosque. He then narrated the rest of the tradition. Next day when he offered the night prayer, he called me and asked: What is the position of that which you had (i.e. the rest of the property)? I replied: Allah has given you comfort from it, Messenger of Allah. He said: Allah is Most Great, and praised Allah, fearing lest he should die while it was with him. I then followed him until he came to his wives and greeted each one of them and finally he came to his place where he had to pass the night. This is all for which you asked me.

Sahih Muslim » The Book of Jihad and Expeditions - كتاب الجهاد والسير
It has been narrated on the authority of Salama b. al-Akwa' who said:
We marched upon Khaibar with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). We journeyed during the night. One of the people said to (my brother) 'Amir b. al-Akwa': Won't you recite to us some of your verses? Amir was a poet. So he began to chant his verses to urge the camels, reciting: O God, if Thou hadst not guided us We would have neither been guided rightly nor practised charity, Nor offered prayers. We wish to lay down our lives for Thee; so forgive Thou our lapses, And keep us steadfast when we encounter (our enemies). Bestow upon us peace and tranquillity. Behold, when with a cry they called upon us to help. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Who is this driver (of the camels)? They said: It is 'Amir. He said: God will show mercy to him. A man said: Martyrdom is reserved for him. Messenger of Allah, would that you had allowed us to benefit ourselves from his life. (The narrator says): We reached Khaibar and besieged them, and (we continued the siege) until extreme hunger afflicted us. Then the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Behold, God has conquered it for you. When it was evening of the day on which the city was conquered. the Muslims lit many fires. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: What are these fires? And what are they cooking? They said: They are cooking meat. He asked. Which meat? They said: That of domestic asses. He said: Let them throw it away and break the pots (in which it is being cooked). A man said: Or should they throw it away and wash the pots? He said: They may do that. When the people drew themselves up in battle array 'Amir caught hold of his sword that was rather short He drove a Jew before him to strike him with it. (As he struck him), his sword recoiled and struck his own knee, and 'Amir died of the wound. When the people returned (after the conquest of Kliaibar) and he (Salama) had caught hold of my hand, and said: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saw that I was silent (and dejected) ; he said: What's the matter with thee? I said to him: My father and my mother be thy ransom, people presume that 'Amir's sacrifice has been in vain. He asked: Who has said that? I said: So and so and Usaid b. Hudair al-Ansari. He said: Who has said that has lied. For him (for 'Amir) there is a double reward. (He indicated this by putting two of his fingers together.) He was a devotee of God and a warrior fighting for His cause. There will be hardly any Arab who can fight as bravely as he did. Qutaiba has differed in a few words.

Sunan Abi Dawud » Tribute, Spoils, and Rulership (Kitab Al-Kharaj, Wal-Fai' Wal-Imarah) - كتاب الخراج والإمارة والفىء
Narrated AbdulMuttalib ibn Rabi'ah ibn al-Harith:
AbdulMuttalib ibn Rabi'ah ibn al-Harith said that his father, Rabi'ah ibn al-Harith, and Abbas ibn al-Muttalib said to AbdulMuttalib ibn Rabi'ah and al-Fadl ibn Abbas: Go to the Messenger of Allah (saws) and tell him: Messenger of Allah, we are now of age as you see, and we wish to marry. Messenger of Allah, you are the kindest of the people and the most skilled in matchmaking. Our fathers have nothing with which to pay our dower. So appoint us collector of sadaqah (zakat), Messenger of Allah, and we shall give you what the other collectors give you, and we shall have the benefit accruing from it. Ali came to us while we were in this condition. He said: The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: No, I swear by Allah, he will not appoint any of you collector of sadaqah (zakat). Rabi'ah said to him: This is your condition; you have gained your relationship with the Messenger of Allah (saws) by marriage, but we did not grudge you that. Ali then put his cloak on the earth and lay on it. He then said: I am the father of Hasan, the chief. I swear by Allah, I shall not leave this place until your sons come with a reply (to the question) for which you have sent them to the Prophet (saws). AbdulMuttalib said: So I and al-Fadl went towards the door of the apartment of the Prophet (saws). We found that the noon prayer in congregation had already started. So we prayed along with the people. I and al-Fadl then hastened towards the door of the apartment of the Prophet (saws). He was (staying) with Zaynab, daughter of Jahsh, that day. We stood until the Messenger of Allah (saws) came. He caught my ear and the ear of al-Fadl. He then said: Reveal what you conceal in your hearts. He then entered and permitted me and al-Fadl (to enter). So we entered and for a little while we asked each other to talk. I then talked to him, or al-Fadl talked to him (the narrator, Abdullah was not sure). He said: He spoke to him concerning the matter about which our fathers ordered us to ask him. The Messenger of Allah (saws) remained silent for a moment and raised his eyes towards the ceiling of the room. He took so long that we thought he would not give any reply to us. Meanwhile we saw that Zaynab was signalling to us with her hand from behind the veil, asking us not to be in a hurry, and that the Messenger of Allah (saws) was (thinking) about our matter. The Messenger of Allah (saws) then lowered his head and said to us: This sadaqah (zakat) is a dirt of the people. It is legal neither for Muhammad nor for the family of Muhammad. Call Nawfal ibn al-Harith to me. So Nawfal ibn al-Harith was called to him. He said: Nawfal, marry AbdulMuttalib (to your daughter). So Nawfal married me (to his daughter). The Prophet (saws) then said: Call Mahmiyyah ibn Jaz'i to me. He was a man of Banu Zubayd, whom the Messenger of Allah (saws) had appointed collector of the fifths. The Messenger of Allah (saws) said to Mahmiyyah: Marry al-Fadl (to your daughter). So he married him to her. The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: Stand up and pay the dower from the fifth so-and-so on their behalf. Abdullah ibn al-Harith did not name it (i.e. the amount of the dower).

Sahih Muslim » The Book of the Merits of the Companions - كتاب فضائل الصحابة رضى الله تعالى عنهم
'Abdullah b. Samit reported that Abu Dharr said:
We set out from our tribe Ghafir who look upon the prohibited months as permissible months. I and my brother Unais and our mother stayed with our maternal uncle who treated us well. The men of his tribe fell jealous and they said: When you are anay from your house, Unais commits adultery with your wife. Our -naternal uncle came and he accused us of the sin which was conveyed to him. I said: You have undone the good you did to us. We cannot stay with you after this. We came to our camels and loaded (our) luggage. Our maternal uncle began to weep covering himself with (a piece of) cloth. We proceeded on until we encamped by the side of Mecca. Unais cast lot on the camels (we had) and an equal number (above that). They both went to a Kahin and he made Unais win and Unais came with our camels and an equal number along with them. He (Abu Dharr) said: My nephew, I used to observe prayer three years before my meeting with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). I said: For whom did you say prayer? He said: For Allah. I said: To which direction did you turn your face (for observing prayer)? He said: I used to turn my face as Allah has directed me to turn my face. I used to observe the night prayer at the time of the end of night and I fell down in prostration like the mantle until the sun rose over me. Unais said: I have a work in Mecca, so you better stay here. Unais went until he came to Mecca and he came to me late. I said: What did you do? He said: I met a person in Mecca who is on your religion and he claims that verily it is Allah Who has sent him. I said: What do the people say about him? He said: They say that he is a poet or a Kahin or a magician. Unais who was himself one of the poets said. I have heard the words of a Kahin but his words in no way resemble his (words). And 1 also compared his words to the verses of poets but such words cannot be uttered by any poet. By Allah, he is truthful and they are liars. Then I said: you stay here, until I go, so that I should see him. He said: I came to Mecca and I selected an insignificant person from amongst them and said to him: Where is he whom you call as-Sabi? He pointed out towards me saying: He is Sabi. Thereupon the people of the valley attacked me with sods and bows until I fell down unconscious. I stood up after havin. regained my consciousness and I found as if I was a red idol. I came to Zamzarn and washed blood from me and drank water from it and listen, O son of my brother, I stayed there for thirty nights or days and there was no food for me but the water of Zamzarn. And I became so bulky that there appeared wrinkles upon my stomach, and I did not feel any hunger in my stomach. It was during this time that the people of Mecca slept in the moonlit night and none was there to eircumambulate the House but only two women who had been invoking the name of Isafa, and Na'ila (the two idols). They came to me while in their circuit and I said: Marry one with the other, but they did not dissuade from their invoking. They came to me and I said to them: Insert wood (in the idols' private parts). (I said this to them in such plain words) as I could not express in metaphorical terms. These women went away crying and saying: Had there been one amongst our people (he would have taught a lesson to you for the obscene words used for our idols before us). These women met Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and Abu Bakr who had also been coming down the hill. He asked them: What has happened to you? They said: There is Sabi, who has hidden himself between the Ka'ba and its curtain. He said: What did he say to you? They said: He uttered such words before us as we cannot express. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came and he kissed the Black Stone and circumambulated the House along with his Companion and then observed prayer, and when he had finished his prayer, Abu Dharr said: I was the first to greet him with the salutation of peace and uttered (these words) in this way; Allah's Messen- ger, may there be peace upon you, whereupon he said: It may be upon you too and the mercy of Allah. He then said: Who are you? I said: From the tribe of Ghifar. He leaned his hand and placed his finger on his forehead and I said to myself: Perhaps he has not liked it that I belong to the tribe of Ghifar. I attempted to catch hold of his hand but his friend who knew about him more than I dissuaded me f rom doing so. He then lifted his head and said: Since how long have you been here? I said: I have been here for the last thirty nights or days. He said: Who has been feeding you? I said: There has been no food for me but the water of Zamzam. I have grown so bulky that there appear wrinkles upon my stomach and I do not feel any hunger. He said: It is blessed (water) and it also serves as food. Thereupon Abu Bakr said: Allah's Messenger, let me serve as a host to him for tonight, and then Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) proceeded forth and so did Abu Bakr and I went along with them. Abu Bakr opened the door and then he brought for us the raisins of Ta'if and that was the first food which I ate there. Then I stayed as long as I had to stay. I then came to Allah's Messenaer (may peace be upon him) and he said: I have been shown the land abound- ing in trees and I think it cannot be but that of Yathrib (that is the old name of Medina). You are a preacher to your people on my behalf. I hope Allah would benefit them through you and He would reward you. I came to Unais and he said: What have you done? I said: I have done that I have embraced Islam and I have testified (to the prophethood of Allah's Messenger). He said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify (to the prophethood of Muhammad). Then both of us came to our mother and she said: I have no aversion for your religion and I also embrace Islam and testify to the prophethood of Muhammad. We then loaded our camels and came to our tribe Ghifir and half of the tribe embraced Islam and their chief was Aimi' b. Rahada Ghifirl and he was their leader and hall of the tribe said: We will embrace Islam when Allah's Messenger (may p,. ace be upon him) would come to Medina, and when Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) came to Medina the remaining half also embraced Islam. Then a tribe Aslam came to the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and said: Allah's Messenger, we also embrace Islam like our brothers who have embraced Islam. And they also embraced Islam. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Allah granted pardon to the tribe of Ghifar and Allah saved (from destruction) the tribe of Aslam.

Sahih Muslim » The Book of Jihad and Expeditions - كتاب الجهاد والسير
(of their destruction to their people). (At these words of mine), the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) laughed so much that his molar teeth could be seen in the light of the fire, and he said:
Salama, do you think you can do this? I said: Yes, by the Being Who has honoured you. He said: Now they have reached the land of Ghatafan where they are being feted. (At this time) a man from the Ghatafan came along and said: So and so slaughtered a camel for them. When they were exposing its skin, they saw dust (being raised far off). They said: They (Akwa' and his companions) have come. So. they went away fleeing. When it was morning, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Our best horseman today is Abu Qatada and our best footman today is Salama. Then he gave me two shares of the booty-the share meant for the horseman and the share meant for the footman, and combined both of them for me. Intending to return to Medina, he made me mount behind him on his she-camel named al-Adba'. While we were travelling, a man from the Ansar who could not be beaten in a race said: Is there anyone who could compete (with me) in race to Medina? Is there any competitor? He continued repeating this. When I heard his talk, I said: Don't you show consideration to a dignified person and don't you have awe for a noble man? He said: No, unless he be the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be thy ransom, let me get down so that I may beat this man (in the race). He said: It you wish, (you may). I said (to the man): I am coming to thee, I then turned my feet. sprang up and tan and gasped (for a while) when one or two elevated places were left and again followed his heel and again gasped (for a while) when one or two elevated places were left and again dashed until I joined him and gave a blow between his shoulders. I said: You have been overtaken, by God. He said: I think so. Thus, I reached Medina ahead of him. By God, we had stayed there only three nights when we set out to Khaibar with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). (On the way) my uncle, Amir, began to recite the following rajaz verses for the people: By God, if Thou hadst not guided us aright, We would have neither practised charity nor offered prayers. (O God! ) We cannot do without Thy favours; Keep us steadfast when we encounter the enemy, And descend tranquillity upon us. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Who is this? 'Amir said: it is 'Amir. He said: May thy God forgive thee! The narrator said: Whenever the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) asked forgiveness for a particular person, he was sure to embrace martyrdom. Umar b. Khattab who was riding on his camel called out: Prophet of Allah, I wish you had allowed us to benefit from Amir. Salama continued: When we reached Khaibar, its king named Marhab advanced brandishing his sword and chanting: Khaibar knows that I am Marhab (who behaves like) A fully armed, and well-tried warrior. When the war comes spreading its flames. My uncle, Amir, came out to combat with him, saying: Khaibar certainly knows that I am 'Amir, A fully armed veteran who plunges into battles. They exchanged blows. Marbab's sword struck the shield of 'Amir who bent forward to attack his opponent from below, but his sword recoiled upon him and cut the main artery: in his forearm which caused his death. Salama said: I came out and heard some people among the Companions of the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) saying: Amir's deed has been wasted; he has killed himself. So I came to the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) weeping and I said: Messenger of Allah. Amir's deed has been wasted. The Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Who passed this remark? I said: Some of your Companions. He said: He who has passed that remark has told a lie, for 'Amir there is a double reward. Then he sent me to 'Ali who had sore eyes, and said: I will give the banner to a man who loves Allah and His Messenger or whom Allah and His Messenger love. So I went to 'Ali, brought him beading him along and he had sore eyes, and I took him to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), who applied his saliva to his eyes and he got well. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) gave him the banner (and 'Ali went to meet Marhab in a single combat). The latter advanced chanting: Khaibar knows certainly that I am Marhab, A fully armed and well-tried valorous warrior (hero) When war comes spreading its flames. 'Ali chanted in reply: I am the one whose mother named him Haidar, (And am) like a lion of the forest with a terror-striking countenance. I give my opponents the measure of sandara in exchange for sa' (i. e. return thir attack with one that is much more fierce). The narrator said: 'Ali struck at the head of Mirhab and killed him, so the victory (capture of Khaibar) was due to him. This long tradition has also been handed down Through a different chain

The aforementioned Hadiths highlight how crucial daily prayers, or salah, are to Islam. They emphasize the significance of prayers as a direct line of communication with Allah and a means of soul-cleansing. According to the Hadiths, praying is a crucial component of accountability on the Day of Judgment, meaning that it is essential to the assessment of one's conduct. They also emphasize the idea that giving up on prayers might be equated with unbelief, emphasizing the crucial relationship between faith and the consistent observance of Salah. Collectively, the Hadiths express the spiritual, moral, and disciplinary significance of daily prayers in Islam, presenting them as a practice that is vital to an individual's well-being in this life and the next, as well as a means of worship.

As is customary in many religious traditions, praying every day can be beneficial to one's psychological well-being. It's crucial to remember that these advantages can change depending on the individual and that experiences can vary as well. The following are some possible psychological advantages of daily prayer from a religious standpoint:

Mindfulness and Presence:
Regular prayers may entail customs and certain gestures or positions. These activities promote mindfulness since they call for focus and concentration. This can lessen distractions and help people become more in the present moment.

Stress Reduction:
Praying can be seen of as a type of meditation because it frequently involves recitation, supplication, and introspection. Frequent prayer has been associated with lower stress levels and a more peaceful, tranquil state of mind.

Emotional Regulation:
People may find that praying every day offers a disciplined and consistent way to communicate their feelings, worries, and thanks. Better emotional management and a sense of inner calm may result from this emotional release.

Community Connection:
Prayer is a community practice for many religious people, especially during congregational prayers. Shared worship and a sense of community can foster social support and a sense of belonging, all of which are critical for mental health.

Purpose and Meaning:
Daily prayer often serves to reaffirm one's sense of direction and significance in life. A framework for comprehending one's role in the world and pursuing a greater purpose can be found in the prayers and teachings connected to it.

Coping Mechanism:
People frequently seek solace and strength from their faith and prayers during trying times. When faced with hardship, turning to a higher power and asking for their assistance might help one cope.

Gratitude and Positive Outlook:
Expressions of thankfulness and acknowledgment of favors are common components of religious prayers. An upbeat mindset can be attained by emphasizing the good things in life and utilizing prayer to express thanks.

Self-Discipline:
Regular prayer typically calls for self-control and a dedication to a schedule. This discipline can be applied to various facets of life and cultivate positive mental and emotional habits.

Below are some testimonies of how some brothers and sisters were able to become more organized in their everyday lives via the practice of daily prayer.

A brother from Mexico used to feel different when he would pass by the Brooklyn mosque in New York City. It was mentioned that he prayed and asked Lord Jesus to "show him the truth" every night before going bed. He had a dream one day that Jesus had pointed to that particular mosque with his index finger. Brother converted to Islam and told of how Jesus appeared to him in a dream, encouraging him to follow the faith and offer prayers in the mosque.

In another story, it was advised to one of the sisters that she try religion in order to get over her depression by her psychologist. She attempted to pray in the mosque after exploring other religions. The curious thing was that she kept returning, and when asked her why, she said that she finds the mosque's Salah prayer chanting to be quite calming and soothing. She was able to overcome her depression after accepting Islam when another sister was able to explain to her how it operates and works for others the same way.

It's critical to understand that a person's beliefs, values, and the larger religious and cultural background can all influence the psychological advantages of daily prayer. Additionally, even if a person does not follow a particular religion, they may still benefit from different contemplative practices in a similar way. Many stories such as those mentioned above provide evidence to the idea that Islamic teachings, memorizing the Quran, Dhikr, and regular prayers all help us stay composed and focused in our daily lives.
