He was born to Mary, a very kind and special lady, and his birth was a miracle because he didn't have a father. Isa did amazing things like helping sick people get better, and he taught everyone about being good, loving, and kind to others. In Islam, we believe that Isa was a messenger of Allah, just like other prophets. He's an example of love, kindness, and helping those in need. We respect and honor him a lot in our faith.
Prophet:
Isa (Jesus) is considered one of the major prophets in Islam, highly respected and honored. Isa, also known as Jesus, is a very special person in Islam. He was chosen by Allah to be a prophet. He was very kind and caring, and he did many amazing things by Allah's power. Isa taught people to be good, to love and help each other, and to be patient and kind. He performed miracles, like healing the sick and helping those in need. We believe in Isa as a prophet because he showed us how to be better people and to love and worship Allah in a good way.
Surah Al-Imran (3:45-47): This passage talks about the announcement of Maryam's (Mary's) miraculous conception and the birth of Isa.
"When the angels said, 'O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah]. He will speak to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous.' She said, 'My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?' The angel said, 'Such is Allah; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is.'"
Virgin Birth:
Islamic tradition holds that Isa was born to the Virgin Mary (Maryam in Arabic) without a father, as a miracle from Allah. Isa's birth is very special in Islam. His mother, Maryam (Mary), was a very good and pious woman. Isa's birth was a miracle from Allah because he didn't have an earthly father. Allah made Isa's mother, Maryam, have a baby without a father, which is something very special and unique. It shows Allah's amazing power and how special Isa was. This miracle birth is a sign of Allah's love and power, making Isa's story very unique and wonderful.
Surah Maryam (19:30-33): These verses recount the story of Isa's birth and his ability to speak even as an infant.
"He said, 'Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive and [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant. And peace is on me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised alive.' That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute."
Miracles:
The Quran attributes numerous miracles to Isa, including speaking as an infant, healing the sick, and bringing the dead back to life by Allah's will. Isa, known as Jesus in Islam, was a very special person chosen by Allah. He did some amazing things called miracles. These were very special events that showed Allah's power working through Isa. He helped sick people get better, and he could do things that seemed impossible, like making the blind see and the deaf hear. Isa also brought people back to life with Allah's permission. These miracles were signs to show people Allah's love and power. They remind us that Allah can do incredible things and that Isa was a very special person chosen by Allah to help others.
Messenger of Allah:
Muslims believe that Isa was a messenger of Allah, preaching the worship of the One Allah (Allah), just like other prophets in Islam. Isa, who is also known as Jesus, is someone very special in Islam. He was chosen by Allah to be a messenger. A messenger is someone who tells us important things from Allah and teaches us how to be good. Isa taught people to love and help each other, to be kind, and to worship Allah in a good way. He was very caring and showed us how to live a good life by following Allah's teachings. He was a special person chosen by Allah to show us the right path to follow.
Surah Al-Imran (3:52-53): These verses speak about Isa's position among his followers and the qualities that they should embody.
"But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, 'Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allah?' The disciples said," We are supporters for Allah. We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]. Our Lord, we have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so register us among the witnesses [to truth].'"
Not Divine:
In contrast to Christian belief, Islam views Isa as a human prophet, not divine or the son of Allah. The concept of the Trinity is not accepted in Islam. Isa, who is known as Jesus, was a very special person in Islam. He was a prophet chosen by Allah to guide people. In Islam, we believe that Isa was a human being and a special servant of Allah, just like other prophets. While he was very good and did many amazing things with Allah's help, he is not considered divine or the son of Allah. We believe in one Allah, and Isa is someone we respect and love as a special person chosen by Allah to teach us how to be good and kind to others.
Respect and Love:
Isa holds a special place in Islamic teachings, and Muslims are required to respect and love him as a revered prophet of Allah. Isa, or Jesus, is very special in Islam. We show Isa a lot of respect and love because he was a wonderful person chosen by Allah. We remember his kindness, his teachings about love and being good to others, and his special connection with Allah. Even though we may believe different things about Isa compared to some other people, we honor and love him as a great prophet and a messenger of Allah. Just like we respect our elders and love our family, we also show this same kindness and care for Isa because he was chosen by Allah to guide us in the right way.
Shared Values:
The teachings and moral values attributed to Isa in the Quran align with many shared principles found in Christianity, emphasizing love, compassion, charity, and forgiveness. Isa, or Jesus, is important in Islam because he taught us many good things that we can all agree on. He showed us how to be kind, loving, and helpful to everyone. He taught us to be fair, honest, and to treat others with respect. These are values that are important to everyone, no matter what faith they follow. Isa's teachings about love, kindness, and helping others are things we can all learn from and try to follow in our lives. That's why we remember and honor Isa, because he taught us such good and important things that make the world a better place for everyone.
Crucifixion:
While the Quranic account doesn't support the belief that Isa was crucified, there are varying interpretations among Islamic scholars regarding what happened. Some believe that someone else was crucified in his place, while others suggest that Isa was not crucified at all. Isa, known as Jesus in Islam, is a very important figure. In Islam, we believe that while some people think Isa was crucified, we believe that Allah protected him from this. We believe that Isa was not crucified, but instead, Allah took him up to heaven. It's like Allah made sure Isa was safe and didn't suffer on the cross. This is what makes Isa's story special in our faith. It's a bit different from what some others believe, and we trust in Allah's plan for Isa.
Ascension:
The Quran narrates Isa's ascension to heaven (known as the Mi'raj), where he is believed to be alive and will return at the appointed time. Isa, also known as Jesus, is very special in Islam. After his time on Earth, Isa went on a very special journey. Allah took him up to the heavens. It's like Allah invited Isa to a very special place, higher than our world, to be close to Him. This journey is called the Ascension. We believe that Isa is alive in a very special place close to Allah. It's like a wonderful adventure, where Allah wanted Isa to be in a special and safe place. This shows us how much Allah loves and values Isa.
Surah An-Nisa (4:157-158): This verse discusses the denial of Isa's crucifixion and his elevated status in the sight of Allah.
"And [for] their saying, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.' And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise."
Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:110): This verse refers to a miracle of Isa in which he made a supplication for a special blessing.
"When Allah will say, 'O Jesus, son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, 'This is not but obvious magic.'"
Second Coming:
Islamic tradition prophesies Isa's return to Earth before the Day of Judgment, to defeat the false messiah (Dajjal), establish justice, and bring an era of peace. Isa, or Jesus, is very important in Islam. We believe that Isa will come back to Earth one day. It's like a special return, just like a hero coming back to help. He will come again before a very important time, to help fight against bad things and bring peace and goodness to the world. It's like a great adventure story where Isa will come back to make things better for everyone. This is something special we believe will happen in the future.
The specifics of Isa's return, his role, and the events surrounding his second coming are primarily found in Hadith collections rather than the Quran. Therefore, while the Quran doesn't explicitly detail Isa's return, Islamic teachings and beliefs regarding his second coming are based on prophetic narrations in Hadiths.
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 43, Hadith 656:
Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established until the son of Maryam (Mary) descends amongst you as a just ruler; he will break the cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizyah. Wealth will be in abundance to the extent that nobody will accept it."
This Hadith, similar to the previous one, emphasizes Isa's return as a just ruler who will initiate significant changes, such as the breaking of the cross and other symbolic acts, indicating a time of peace, justice, abundance, and a good Muslim.
