The Quran does not specifically mention "reptiles" as a category of animals, but it does mention several types of reptiles by name, such as snakes, lizards, and turtles. In general, the Quran acknowledges the diversity of God's creation, including the various types of animals, and emphasizes the importance of treating them with respect and care. For example, in Surah Al-An'am (6:38), it says:
"There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end."
This verse implies that all living beings, including reptiles, are important parts of the natural world and have a place in God's grand plan. The Quran also emphasizes the need to be just and fair in our treatment of animals, and to avoid causing unnecessary harm or suffering.
Here are some Quranic verses that mention reptiles:
"And We brought forth from the earth a [great] many kinds of vegetation and therein We created reptiles of every kind. And We sent down water from the skies in abundance, and caused rivers to flow beneath them. Thus We brought forth pairs of every kind of [plant and] reptile." (Quran 50:9-10)
"So he [Moses] threw down his staff, and behold! it was a serpent, plain to see." (Quran 26:32)
"And when We said to the angels: Prostrate before Adam, they prostrated, except Iblis. He was of the jinn, so he rebelled against his Lord's command. Would you then take him and his offspring as protectors apart from Me, while they are your enemies? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange!" (Quran 18:50)
"Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with the people of the elephant? Did He not make their plan go astray? And He sent against them birds in flocks, striking them with stones of baked clay, so He made them like straw eaten up." (Quran 105:1-5)
"Then, when they had cast [their staffs] down, they cast a spell upon the people's eyes and caused them to feel great fear of them, for they had brought about a tremendous sorcery. And We inspired Moses: 'Cast down your staff.' And lo! it swallowed up all their lying invention. Thus the truth came to pass, and their doings were made vain." (Quran 7:116-118)
Note: While some of these verses may not explicitly mention reptiles, they are related to the topic of reptiles in the Quran.
"And [We had sent] to Thamud their brother Salih. He said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive." They said, "O Salih, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt." He said, "O my people, have you considered: if I should be upon clear evidence from my Lord and He has given me mercy from Himself, who would protect me from Allah if I disobeyed Him? So you would not increase me except in loss. And O my people, this is the she-camel of Allah - [she is] to you a sign. So let her feed upon Allah 's earth and do not touch her with harm, or you will be taken by an impending punishment."" [Quran 11:61-64]
"And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. Then indeed, after that you are to die. Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected." [Quran 23:12-16]
"Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren ground." [Quran 18:7]
