In addition to the mandatory rituals, there are several recommended acts of Umrah that a pilgrim may choose to perform. These acts are not mandatory, but they are highly recommended and can earn the pilgrim additional rewards and blessings. Some of the recommended acts of Umrah are:
- Doing Tawaf Al-Qudum: This is also known as Tawaf of Arrival, and it involves performing Tawaf immediately after entering Mecca, before entering the state of Ihram. This is recommended but not obligatory.
- Performing Nafl prayers: The pilgrim can perform any number of Nafl (optional) prayers, both inside and outside the Masjid Al-Haram. The more prayers they perform, the greater the reward.
- Drinking Zamzam water: Zamzam water is a blessed water that is available at the Masjid Al-Haram. The pilgrim can drink it and make supplications.
- Visiting the Prophet's Mosque: If the pilgrim has time, they can visit the Prophet's Mosque in Medina and offer prayers there.
- Performing Umrah on behalf of someone else: The pilgrim can perform Umrah on behalf of someone else who is unable to do it, such as a sick or elderly person.
- Giving charity: The pilgrim can give charity to the poor and needy in Mecca or Medina, as a way of seeking Allah's blessings and forgiveness.
- Reading Quran: The pilgrim can spend time reading and reflecting on the Quran, both inside and outside the Masjid Al-Haram.
- Visiting historical sites: If the pilgrim has time, they can visit historical sites in Mecca and Medina, such as the Cave of Hira and the Battle of Uhud site.
These recommended acts are not obligatory, but they are a great way to increase one's rewards and blessings during the Umrah pilgrimage. It is important to remember that the primary focus of the pilgrimage should be on worship and devotion to Allah, and that any extra acts should be done with sincerity and humility.
