"Have they not considered the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what things Allah has created, and that it may be that their end is near? In what statement after this will they believe?" (Quran 7:185)
This verse from the Quran is inviting the people to reflect and ponder upon the greatness of Allah's creation, the vastness of His dominion over the heavens and the earth, and the wondrous things that He has brought into existence. The verse points out that despite the clear signs of Allah's power and majesty in the creation around them, some people still refuse to believe and fail to recognize the truth.
The verse also emphasizes the fleeting nature of human life and the inevitability of death. It reminds people that they will eventually face their end, and that they should prepare for the afterlife by seeking Allah's pleasure and guidance.
The question posed in the verse, "In what statement after this will they believe?" highlights the fact that even though Allah has provided numerous signs and proofs of His existence and power, some people remain stubbornly resistant to the truth. The verse thus serves as a reminder to seek guidance from Allah and to be open to His signs and messages.
This verse from Surah Al-A'raf is a call to contemplation and reflection on the signs of Allah's existence and power in the creation of the heavens and the earth. The phrase "the dominion of the heavens and the earth" refers to the vastness and magnificence of the universe and all that it contains, from the smallest particles to the largest galaxies. It is a reminder that Allah is the Creator of all things and that everything is under His control.
The verse also emphasizes the fact that the end of this life is near and that we must take heed and prepare for the Hereafter. It is a warning that we should not be deluded by the temporary pleasures and distractions of this world, but rather focus on fulfilling our purpose in life and seeking Allah's pleasure.
Furthermore, the verse challenges those who reject the signs of Allah's existence and power to consider what statement or evidence they can produce to support their disbelief. It is an invitation to ponder on the logical and rational basis of belief in Allah and His signs, and to consider the consequences of denying them.
