al-Maram » Business
Transactions
Narrated Suhaib (RA):
The Prophet (SAW) said, "There
are three things which contain blessings: A business transaction
in which payment is agreed on a fixed later time, al-Muqaradah (speculative
partnership), and mixing wheat and barley for one's household use but not for
sale." [Reported by Ibn Majah through a Da'if (weak) chain of narrators].

Sahih Muslim » The Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners, and
Joining of the Ties of Kinship
Ibn Abbas reported:
I was playing with children that
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) happened to pass by (us). I hid
myself behind the door. He (the Prophet) came and patted my shoulders and said:
Go and call Mu'awiya. I returned and said: He is busy in
taking food. He again asked me to go and call Mu'awiya to him. I went (and came
back) and said that he was busy in taking food,
whereupon he said: May Allah not fill his belly! Ibn Muthanna, said: I asked
Umm Umayya what he meant by the word Hatani. He said: It means "he patted
my shoulders."

al-Bukhari » Good Manners
and Form (Al-Adab)
Narrated Sahl:
When Al-Mundhir bin Abu Usaid was
born, he was brought to the Prophet who placed him on his thigh. While Abu
Usaid was sitting there, the Prophet was busy with
something in his hands so Abu Usaid told someone to take his son from the thigh
of the Prophet . When the Prophet finished his job (with which he was busy),
he said, "Where is the boy?" Abu Usaid replied, "We have sent
him home." The Prophet said, "What is his name?" Abu Usaid said,
"(His name is) so-and-so. " The Prophet said, "No, his name is
Al-Mundhir." So he called him Al-Mundhir from that day.

al-Masabih » Business Transactions
‘Abdallah b. Mas'ud reported God’s
Messenger as saying, “When two people who are arranging a business transaction
disagree the decision rests with the seller, but the buyer has the right to
choose whether he will confirm this*.” Tirmidhi transmitted it. In the version
of Ibn Majah and Darimi he said, “When two people who are arranging a business transaction
disagree, the commodity being present and is neither being able to prove his
case, the decision rests with the seller, or they may both reject the
transaction.” * The seller swears an oath to the effect that he is right. The
buyer may either agree or swear in an oath that he is right. In the latter
instance the qadi cancels the deal.

Sahih Muslim » The Book of Greetings
Asma' reported:
I performed the household duties of
Zubair and he had a horse; I used to look after it. Nothing was more burdensome
for me than looking after the horse I used to bring grass for it and looked
after it, then I got a servant as Allah's Apustle (may peace be upon him) had
some prisoners of war in his possession. He gave me a female servant. She (the
female servant) then began to look after the horse and thus relieved me of this
burden. A person came and he said: Mother of 'Abdullah, I am a destitute person
and I intend that I should start business under the
shadow of your house. I (Asma') said: If I grant you permission, Zubair may not
agree to that, so you come and make a demand of it when Zubair is also present
there. He came accordingly find said: Mother of 'Abdullah. I am a destitute person.
I intend to start t mall business in the shadow of your
house. I said: Is there not in Medina (any place for starting the business)
except my house? Zubair said: Why is it that you prohibit the destitute man to
start business here? So he started business and
he (earned so much) that we sold our slave-girl to him There came Zubair to me
while the money was in my lap. He said: Give this to me. I said: (I intend) to
spend it as charity.
