Quranic prophecies about the future

The Quranic prophecies about the future are statements in the Quran that predict events or outcomes that will occur in the future. These prophecies cover a wide range of topics, including the final judgment, the end of the world, the coming of a final prophet, the spread of Islam, and the fate of individuals and nations.

The Quranic prophecies about the future are significant because they offer guidance and warnings to believers, as well as insights into the nature of God and the universe. They serve as a reminder of the ultimate purpose of human existence and the importance of living a righteous life.

Many of the Quranic prophecies about the future have been fulfilled, while others are yet to come to pass. However, all of these prophecies are considered to be the word of God and are believed by Muslims to be infallible and true.

Here are some Quranic prophecies about the future, along with their corresponding verse numbers:

  1. The coming of Prophet Isa (Jesus) and his role in the end times: "And [for] their saying, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.' And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise." (Quran 4:157-158).
  2. The coming of the Antichrist (Dajjal) and the battle against him: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The Dajjal will come and he will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan, wearing Persian shawls." (Sahih Muslim)
  3. The coming of the Antichrist (Dajjal): "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist), and the stone that marks his forehead will expose him, and Allah will cause him to be killed by the hands of Jesus, son of Mary." (Sahih Muslim).
  4. The coming of the Antichrist: "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, 'Between the creation of Adam and the Resurrection there is no creation that is more dangerous than the Dajjal (the Antichrist).'" (Sahih Muslim 2946)
  5. The coming of the Day of Judgment: "When the sky breaks apart and becomes rose-colored like oil. Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?" (Quran 55:37-38).
  6. The coming of the Day of Resurrection: "And they ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, 'Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly.' They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, 'Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know'" (Quran 7:187).
  7. The conquest of Constantinople: "Ameen. This is a promise of Allah. Allah does not break His promise, but most people do not know. And if, when they wronged themselves, they had come to you, [O Muhammad], and asked forgiveness of Allah and the Messenger had asked forgiveness for them, they would have found Allah Accepting of repentance and Merciful. But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission." (Quran 4:64-65).
  11. The description of the Day of Judgment: "When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] and when the stars fall, dispersing, and when the mountains are removed and when full-term she-camels are neglected and when the wild beasts are gathered and when the seas boil over and when souls are paired and when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked for what sin she was killed and when the pages are made public and when the sky is stripped away and when Hellfire is set ablaze and when Paradise is brought near, a soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]." (Quran 81:1-14).

My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful. Our Lord, I have settled some of my descendants in an uncultivated valley near Your sacred House, our Lord, that they may establish prayer.
