Quran describes a group of people who are hypocrites, who use their wealth and status to gain advantage over others and who refuse to contribute to charitable causes, despite being able to do so. The verse warns that such people will suffer in the afterlife and will be forever despised by God and His followers.
The Quranic verse 9:113 states:
"It is not for the Prophet and those who have believed to ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of Hellfire."
This verse emphasizes the importance of believers dissociating themselves from those who engage in polytheism and other forms of disbelief. It also underscores the severity of such acts and the inevitability of the punishment that awaits the wrongdoers in the hereafter. The verse also indicates that even if the polytheists are the Prophet's own relatives, he and the believers are not permitted to seek forgiveness for them after it has become clear that they are deserving of punishment in the afterlife. This verse highlights the importance of adhering to the principles of faith and remaining steadfast in one's beliefs, even in the face of familial or societal pressure.
