"Have We not expanded for you your chest?" (Quran 94:1)
In this verse, Allah asks Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) a rhetorical question, reminding him of His favor upon him by expanding his chest. This is a reference to the time when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was first called to prophethood and received the first revelation from Allah through the angel Gabriel.
At that time, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was overwhelmed and scared by the experience. However, Allah expanded his chest and made him calm and composed so that he could carry out the task of conveying the message of Islam to humanity.
This verse is a reminder to all believers that Allah is always with them, supporting and guiding them in their endeavors. It also shows that Allah has the power to change a person's emotional and mental state, and to give them the strength to overcome any challenges that they may face.
In this verse, Allah (SWT) is addressing the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and reassuring him of His support and assistance in fulfilling his prophetic mission. The phrase "Have We not expanded for you your chest?" can be understood as a metaphorical expression of comfort and relief, indicating that Allah has granted the Prophet the necessary strength, courage, and confidence to carry out his duties as a messenger of Allah.
Some scholars interpret this verse as a reference to the Prophet's ability to receive and convey divine revelations, as the expansion of the chest can be associated with the heart being receptive to knowledge and guidance. Others interpret it as a general expression of support and encouragement for the Prophet in his struggle against the challenges and opposition he faced during his mission.
This verse can also be understood as a reminder for believers to trust in Allah and seek His support and guidance in all their endeavors. It emphasizes the importance of relying on Allah's strength and help, especially during times of difficulty and hardship.
Overall, this verse serves as a powerful reminder of Allah's constant presence and support for those who believe in Him and follow His guidance. It encourages believers to have faith and trust in Allah's plan for their lives and to seek His assistance in all their affairs.
