Angels of Hell - according to Quran

The concept of "Angels of Hell" is mentioned in Islamic teachings, including the Quran. These angels are known as "Malaa'ikah al-Jahannam" in Arabic.

According to Islamic beliefs, Hellfire angels are created by Allah (God) to carry out the punishment of the disbelievers and sinners on the Day of Judgment. They are responsible for punishing those who rejected Allah's guidance and committed evil deeds during their lifetime.

The Quran mentions several names of Hellfire angels, such as Malik, Zabaniah, and Khazin, who are responsible for guarding the gates of Hell and punishing the inhabitants of Hellfire. The Quran also describes the appearance and attributes of these angels, such as their frightening appearance, their immense strength, and their mercilessness towards the disbelievers and sinners.

It's important to note that in Islamic teachings, belief in the existence of angels is considered one of the fundamental articles of faith, and Muslims are required to believe in the existence of both angels of mercy and angels of punishment. However, the exact nature and function of these angels are not fully understood, and their roles in the afterlife are subject to interpretation by Islamic scholars and theologians.

In (Quran 43:77) and the following, the Qur'an describes Angel Malik telling the people in hell that they must remain there: "Surely, the disbelievers will be in the torment of hell to abide therein forever. [The torment] will not be lightened for them, and they will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair therein. We wronged them not, but they were the wrongdoers. And they will cry: 'O Malik! Let your Lord make an end of us!' He will say: 'Surely, you shall abide forever.' Indeed we have brought the truth to you, but most of you have a hatred for the truth."

In addition, "Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a Blaze. Abiding therein forever, they will not find a protector or a helper. On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say, "Oh, would that we had obeyed Allah and obeyed the Messenger!" And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we have obeyed our masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way. Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse them with a great curse." (Quran 33:64-68)

"And those who disbelieved in Our signs - We will progressively lead them [to destruction] from where they do not know. And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm." Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are burdened with debt? Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin and exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning. Indeed, those who dispute concerning the signs of Allah without [any] authority having come to them - there is not within their breasts except pride, [the extent of] which they cannot reach. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Seeing. The creation of the heavens and earth is greater than the creation of mankind, but most of the people do not know. And not equal are the blind and the seeing, nor are those who believe and do righteous deeds and the evildoer. Little do you remember." (Quran 13:32-19)

"Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise." (Quran 4:56)

"And those who disbelieved will [then] say, "Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them beneath our feet that they will be among the lowest." Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah" and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised. We [angels] were your allies in worldly life and [are so] in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]. As accommodation from a [Lord who is] Forgiving and Merciful." (Quran 41:29-32)

"Indeed, the Hellfire is of the greatest [afflictions], a place of return for the transgressors. They will abide therein for ages. They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink. Except scalding water and [foul] purulence - an appropriate recompense. Indeed, they were not expecting an account. And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. But all things We have enumerated in writing. So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment. Indeed, for the righteous is attainment - gardens and grapevines and companions of equal age and a full cup. No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood. [As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account, [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech. The Day that the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct." (Quran 78:21-38)

In this verse, Angel Malik is not explicitly mentioned by name, but he is believed to be the guardian of Hellfire according to Islamic teachings, and is often associated with the concept of Hellfire angels in general.
