Narrated Al-Aswad:
That he asked `Aisha "What did
the Prophet use to do in his house?" She replied, "He used to keep
himself busy serving his family and when it was the
time for prayer he would go for it."
حَدَّثَنَا
آدَمُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ، عَنْ
إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ
صلى الله عليه وسلم يَصْنَعُ فِي بَيْتِهِ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ
أَهْلِهِ ـ تَعْنِي خِدْمَةَ أَهْلِهِ ـ فَإِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ خَرَجَ إِلَى
الصَّلاَةِ.

Narrated `Aisha:
When Abu Bakr As-Siddiq was chosen
Caliph, he said, "My people know that my profession was not incapable of
providing substance to my family. And as I will be busy serving
the Muslim nation, my family will eat from the National Treasury of Muslims,
and I will practice the profession of serving the Muslims."
حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ،
عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ
ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ لَمَّا اسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ قَالَ
لَقَدْ عَلِمَ قَوْمِي أَنَّ حِرْفَتِي لَمْ تَكُنْ تَعْجِزُ عَنْ مَئُونَةِ
أَهْلِي، وَشُغِلْتُ بِأَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَسَيَأْكُلُ آلُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ مِنْ
هَذَا الْمَالِ وَيَحْتَرِفُ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ.

Narrated `Ali:
When it was the day of the battle of
Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans), Allah's Apostle said, "O Allah! Fill their
(i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire as they busied us
so much that we did not perform the prayer (i.e. `Asr) till the sun set."
حَدَّثَنَا
إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ
مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ
يَوْمُ الأَحْزَابِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم "
مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا، شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ
الْوُسْطَى حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ".

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle said, "The main
source of disbelief is in the east. Pride and arrogance are characteristics of
the owners of horses and camels, and those bedouins who are busy with
their camels and pay no attention to Religion; while modesty and gentleness are
the characteristics of the owners of sheep."
حَدَّثَنَا
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ
الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى
الله عليه وسلم قَالَ "
رَأْسُ الْكُفْرِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ، وَالْفَخْرُ وَالْخُيَلاَءُ فِي أَهْلِ
الْخَيْلِ وَالإِبِلِ، وَالْفَدَّادِينَ أَهْلِ الْوَبَرِ، وَالسَّكِينَةُ فِي
أَهْلِ الْغَنَمِ ".

Narrated Abu Masud:
The Prophet beckoned with his hand
towards Yemen and said, "Belief is there." The harshness and
mercilessness are the qualities of those farmers etc, who are busy with
their camels and pay no attention to the religion (is towards the east) from
where the side of the head of Satan will appear; those are the tribes of Rabi`a
and Mudar.
حَدَّثَنِي
عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُعْفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ،
حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ
أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" الإِيمَانُ هَا هُنَا ". وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ
" وَالْجَفَاءُ وَغِلَظُ الْقُلُوبِ فِي الْفَدَّادِينَ، عِنْدَ أُصُولِ
أَذْنَابِ الإِبِلِ مِنْ حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنَا الشَّيْطَانِ رَبِيعَةَ وَمُضَرَ
".
